And I thought the Cowboys' green pants were bad. Looks like he's draped in bodypaint.

The suit makes him look bigger than he really is. It's not needed.

It's not like it was body composition that made Superman "super".
His physique is perfect for Superman. Superman has historically been drawn muscular, usually with a barrel chest.

But the suit isn't whats making him look so big. The actor bulked up for the part.

Meh, I doubt the the dude's got veins popping through a suit in a relaxed position.

No doubt the guy is built to begin with but the suit is definitely adding some size as well.

A lot people are complaining about Cavill. I have no idea why.

He's not as great as Reeve in fitting the look of Superman - who is - but he's darn close.

I think Cavill looks great in the suit. I just don't know if he can live up to the character.

If a real person could fly around the world at crazy speeds.

What kind of fabric would his outfit have to be made out of to withstand every day flying and face breaking?

Who is complaining about Cavill? He's been almost universally well received.

Three different Brits playing Superman, Batman and Spider Man. When will an American be cast as James Bond? I won't hold my breath.

Sherlock Holmes. There was an American actor offered Bond, but he turned it down. I forget who it was.

Cavill looks more like Superman than anyone I've ever seen -- more so than Reeve, that's for sure.

Cavill as Clark in Smallville:

I don't want to see Superman without Christopher Reeve in the part...and those days are gone obviously.

Not by the fan boys, and they tend to make the most noise.

I have to disagree on this one.

I was going to agree but then I saw the suit pic below. It looks like it may be a very thin material/fiber. That could really be his vein.

??

Glad they lost the underwear on the outside... but now that bulge is just glaring at you.

Fan boys have been crying for Cavill since Superman Returns (yes, he was actually a contender for that role, but considered too young at the time). He was actually up for Bale's role in Batment Begins as well. He's been a fan boy favorite for years.

PS, Superman fanboys generally hate your avatar.

By the way, that's a photoshop. In the real picture he's not wearing the cape. And the colors are very different.

Jealousy.

I would love to see a Superman vs Batman movie.....i mean there has always been friction between the two, so why not bring it to the big screen.....

LOL at those that thing the hero has to be a psychotic to be interesting. The old Superman movie, the first one, did well despite a real good guy as the hero because it was done well.

Only lazy idiots need to write disaster areas as so called heroes. Any more the heroes are so screwed up they could not get out of their own way.

I look at some of these movies anymore and I have to laugh; they claim that flawed people are more interesting; I say BS: if you can write well you can make any charactor interesting. That is just a cop out for lazy and lousy writers.
