I’m wanting to get a new vehicle and just curious what everyone has and their opinions. I currently have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and thinking about switching to a Midsize SUV that gets good gas mileage.

The PHEV Mits? I just made an appointment to test drive one myself.

Depends on the budget but there are some good deals out there on SUV's. I know ya said "new" but I just got my mom a 2014 Lexus RX 350 and it runs like a champ. You would have all the luxuries, looks expensive but it really is not and is very affordable.

We found all of the SUVs in this category were way overpriced.

Explorer Limited. Great car, and nice.
I know they're safe. CHP attempted to roll it and failed.

They did have a exhaust leaking into the cab problem reported. Make sure to research that .

I don't know if a Nissan Rogue is smaller than you want, but I recently bought a 2016, and I like it a whole lot more than I ever expected to. It's surprisingly peppy (especially in Sport mode), yet averages about 27 mpg. The cargo space is more than you'd think from the outside as well.

Kia Sorento they look nice and get good gas mileage Had one ran great

What's your price range? Are you looking for a new or used vehicle? Don't forget to check into problems police had in 2017 with cruisers allowing exhaust into the cabin. I believe that's a specific Ford model, but can't recall which one. It would pay you to Google best and worst of what you're looking for. Researching will get you a bigger picture into a significant purchase. Even pay for a month of Consumer Reports if you're in the market for new. I would personally steer a friend to Ford over Chevy. Lots of other good options though.

Thanks for the input. Have heard great things about Honda CR-V’s and we drove a Rogue on our honeymoon in July and liked how it drove. Been wondering about one of those. Best to get to a car lot and check them out. I would think something around $30,000 or lower depending what I’ll get for trade on my current car.

You can get a great deal on a Subaru Forester XT 2.0 Turbo right now + 0% financing for 63 months.

I bought one about two months ago $26,800 (before tax and license).

I bought my Rogue at a Hertz dealership. $16,300, with 31k miles. Sounds like you want to buy new, but I thought I'd give you that to consider. I haven't looked into the price of 2018's.

As an iPhone user I like the thought of using Apple CarPlay and I believe 2018 is the first year it’s offered on a Rogue.
