It’s funny and I don’t disagree with this statement but we felt much better about a loss last week than a win this week. Eberflus needs to start blitzing, we can’t get outside pressure from our ends and the secondary is not only bad but seem not to know how to play zone concepts.

That is a problem when Eberflus prefers to rush four. We traded away our pass rush and then pretended like we could manufacture one with scheme. So far through two games, those who thought that was an ignorant statement have been correct.

Dexter Lawrence was hurt. And they made a bunch of upgrades lol. They drafted Abdul Carter, signed Chauncey Gholston, Dexter Lawrence is healthy who’s arguably the best DT in the league.

Abdul Carter is an unproven rookie and has been playing mostly edge and so far he hasn’t proven himself against anyone, let alone the run. Remind you of someone?

Gholston is an upgrade? The same guy we let walk because he was so good against the run when we were right there with the Giants for having one of the worst run defenses in the league last year?

Dexter has been invisible for them this year and in case you didn’t know, he’s double teamed most of the time and even when he was healthy they still sucked against the run. It takes more than one great player to stop the run, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and pretend you didn’t know that.

The defense was putrid, and we can’t blame it on Bland’s absence. But we are 1-1, and that’s all that matters, not how well or how poorly you played. We came back from behind again and again and kept coming. Winning a game like this when losing seemed all but inevitable is great for the team. They will always feel they are in it.

Without Turpin speed as a threat, with Tolbert, who I can’t stand, and without Beebee, the offense did enough to win.
