For the record, the Cowboys defense was better in points allowed relative to per play defensive efficiency than the Giants this year as well.

Agreed. If you're not in first, what does second matter? It sounds to me like Judas is in to "moral victories".

Right now, I don't give a **** about the Giants NON-GENIUS, because there are no moral victories since the Giants are in the stinking NFC championship game. So since they are already here, I need to go to the next best thing which is protecting our Super Bowl victories and the niners are about to make our franchise look less and less like America's team. NY 3 SBs, San Fran = 5. NOOOOOOOOOOO

Yet people like to point to that year as a year we had a dominant defense. This defense has never been dominant. You return largely the same players and then they just fall off a cliff? That's not a dominant defense at all.

All good teams have something they can lean on. You have your teams who have elite QBs with a great offense. You have your teams who have great defense and solid running games (Even with average QBs). Rarely do you have a mediocre at best to terrible at worse offensive line and a horrible defense and go far in the NFL.

What does that mean? Well, the DL/OL are the most important parts to the makeup of successful defenses and offenses. But no, let's go trade away half a draft for a sub-par WR and then draft a bunch of role playing ST players who don't pan out.

People like to point to that season as having a good defense, but really I feel we had a great offense, an average defense, and (to borrow a basketball term) low tempo which made the points for/against disconnect from the true levels of play.

Eli is better than Romo, he puts lots of pressure on the opposing QB and plays great DB too. That's the difference, he makes the Giants defense better, than Romo makes his defense.

HE also makes quick decisions, very accurate, escapes pressure and still hits his target. Plus he wins super bowls, so you're right, Eli is better.
