HUH???
I didn't get draftscout confused with draftocuntdown AT ALL, what are you talkin about?
My bad, he's ranked 11th overall for seniors, so that must mean I was wrong about him not being a 3rd round prospect! :lmao2:

Go back and read what you wrote. You said it yourself.

First you qoute where NFLdraftcoutdown has him at then you say that it was NFLdraftscout...... but yeah....11th overall for seniors doesn't mean anything. The same site that has him ranked 11th overall for seniors doesn't even have him going in the first round in their mock what do you have to say about that?

SIMPLE, you rank your players on who's the best regardless of position, where as a MOCK, you have a team take a player at a position of NEED for that team.
Most 3-4 teams have a big N.T. already like the Jets/Chargers/Steelers so they wouldn't have those 3-4 teams selecting Raji, NOT CAUSE he's not worthy of that high a selection, but cause they don't have the need for that position.

It's basically like when Brady quinn started to fall, once he got past a certain team, there was like 11 teams in a row who didn't have a need for a Q.B. and thus while he was rated higher by most people, they passed on him, GOT IT NOW?
Geez, I swear, why is it I need to explain EVERYTHING to you?
So just cause they didn't have him going in their mock is meaningless, he's ranked 11th overall for seniors, which tells me they must think he's a 1st round talent, REGARDLESS of the fact he didn't go in the mock draft cause mocks are based on NEEDs a team has along with the skill of a player, and like I said, the Steelers have Casey Hampton, the Jets got Kris Jenkins, chargers has Williams, Miami has Ferguson, Browns have Shaun Rogers, pats have Wilfork, etc., so hence the reason he was not in their mock in the 1st round, I bet if we had a 1st round pick, they would have him going to us.
BOTTOM LINE, who cares if he went in the 1st round mock or not?
They have him ranked 11th OVERALL for seniors, which for this DISCUSSION tells me they think he's not gonna be around in round THREE, and that was the point of this!!!!

I swear my 5 year old nephew knows more about football then you, and I don't have to EXPLAIN the simplest COMMON SENSE things to him!

What am I full of?????
Explain what I made up and am FULL OF IT ABOUT!

WHAT???????????????

WHAT AM I SPINNING??????????????????????????????????????

Is it NOT A FACT that most all the 3-4 teams have their N.T. in place so that they don't have a need in round 1 for a N.T.?????????

Is it NOT STILL A FACT he's ranked 11th overall for seniors????

So you think that a guy they have ranked 11th overall for seniors and BECAUSE he's not in their 1st round mock, that SOMEHOW MEANS he has a very good chance to be there in round THREE????

Seriously, did you eat paint chips as a kid????

You think I am SPINNING THIS??
It's called EXPLAINING IT TO YOU using COMMON SENSE, FACTS to BACKUP WHAT I SAY, and LOGIC, not my fault you are too dumb to understand LOGIC and COMMON SENSE!!!!!!

where have u seen that? so the 10th guy selected will be capped but the 11th selection can get whatever contract he wants OR the team wants to pay him? I'd feel sorry for the team with the 10th selection every year. No player or agent would talk to them.

Everything I've read would put a cap on all draft choices, with the highest picks getting the most money and then gradually working down, similar to the NBA draft.

You took my meaning to literal. From what I've been hearing most rookie salaries will remain the same because it's those giant bonus' and escalators that are causing problems. Think about Larry Fitzgerald's contract before he signed and extension or Julius Peppers cap number this season (and these were 2 guys that lived up to the hype). The cost of putting the franchise tag on one of these guys would eat up about 20% of the cap (remember each position is slotted, but the franchise tag also gives you a certain % raise over your previos years salary/cap number).

The guys picked outside the top ten will still follow the same rules, but will end up making about the same weather they're drafted in 09' or 2010 because they aren't the problem

a 7th rounder comes in and starts on D ?

Why not? He is a big ole NT that we have been looking for.

We go big with Ratliff, Hill, Spears to start off the game. We infuse Canty, Hatcher, and Bowen on obvious passing downs.....

Luigs was the Center who blocked for McFadden, Felix, and Hillis. Go back and look at their rushing numbers up the middle and that tells you what you need to know about Luigs. He is a tough, mean, physical Center. I know we have Gurode, but I am tired of his poor snaps and poor timing with Romo. I want someone who will do it right and be a better leader of the OL. Gurode can always slide over to G......or he can stay at C and let Luigs go to G. Either way, I want a top notch C prospect who can push Gurode to meet his fullest potential.

Joe Burnett is a very good CB. He has accumulated over 12 interceptions in his career. He is also a solid KR.

Sean Smith, I know very little about. However, I like his size and speed. I have read that he is does a good job in coverage and creates turnovers

Mark Parsons is very, very fast. He also has great technique. For a small guy, he plays physical. He loves to jam WRs at the line and disrupt the flow of their routes. He also has a knack for creating turnovers.

Darcel McBath is the starting safety for the much improved TT defense. He seems to always be around the ball...and does a nice job of creating turnovers.

Kenny Mainor is a pass rushing specialist. I think he and Ware would have fun competing with one another on who can be the most productive Troy alumnist.

Mike Reilly.....now that Colt McCoy has decided to stay at UT for his senior year....Reilly is my favorite QB in the draft. He has consistently had a mid 60s completion percentage. He has a high TD/INT ratio. He can tuck the ball and run if need be. He is very mobile and elusive in the pocket. He is definitely the perfect fit to backup Romo.

being big is not everything. remember we did draft montavious stanley in the 6th round in 06' and babatunde oshinawa went a few picks before, both guys definately had the size but failed as 3-4 NT. If we wait till round 7, we better hope he atleast makes the team, let alone start

Well Hill has been quite productive at Stillman. Also, if you read his interviews, he seems to have his head on straight and a positive work ethic. He looks like one of those players that eats soup with a fork. (the fork thing is from Kenny Smith of TNT.....thats his way of saying the player in hungry to succeed)

As far as waiting till the 7th.....Honestly it doesn't matter the round you get your starters in. Look at all the garbage we have drafted in the first 4 rounds over the past 13 years or so. If not for the Galloway trade, we might have drafted 2 more pieces of garbage, based on our drafting trends at that time. We had Carver, Ekuban, LaFleur, Shiver, Carpenter, Quincy, Henson, Fasano, Rogers, Petermann, Bjornson, Blade, Ross, Green, Goodrich, etc.....look at all the picks we wasted on players that did little or nothing for us. Sadly, out of all of the above players, Quincy Carter was the most productive for us.

We have Barber, Choice, Scandrick, Ball, Brown, Ratliff, Romo, Crayton, Stanback, Canty, and others all of which who we got in the 4th and later....some we signed as undrafted FAs.

IMO, the only reason he falls so far in the draft, is because he went to Stillman. Had he gone to an SEC, ACC, or Big 12 school, I feel he would be rated in the 2nd or 3rd round....

I agree that you can get quality later in the draft, but the odds of them starting as rookies is so slim that you shouldn't include it in your plan

I love Luig and Holtzclaw. And I don't think Swain lasts that long, but that guy is gonna be a steal somewhere between the 4th and 6th rounds.

I didn't want to start a new thread, so just added to this existing one. I haven't updated my spreadsheets in some time and senior bowl, etc. are still a ways away, so some players may be reaches or long gone on draft day.

2) FS - Derek Peques
3) OT/G - Fenuki Tupou
4) ILB - Worrell Williams
4) WR - Quan Cosby
5) DT - Terrance Taylor
5) FS/CB - Sherrod Martin
6) ILB - Jasper Brinkley
7) OT - William Beatty
7) DT - Sammie Lee Hill
