Newman has two pretty remarkable displays of athleticism this year...

How many people can say that they've run down Randy Moss from behind and outleaped Roy Williams?

When Roy caught that ball earlier in the game to set up Detroit's only score and Newman picked up the ball he dropped and started scooting with it (run till you hear a whistle, right?), I remembered exactly how fast that kid is.

You are right. I saw both plays and was very impressed. He is know one of the finest cornors in the league.

He had some nifty moves returning punts.

Yes he did.... He has a very quick burst of speed on the returns and I can see Dallas uses him from time to time through out the remainder of the season. Especially with these tough games that are coming up

I absolutely love seeing him out there returning punts where the other team is buried behind their 20. That's pretty much a "no lose" situation.

He's got Deion-esque moves .

Newman is excellent. I cant wait to watch the leap and the little scoot he had.

I had a problem with Newman returning punts during this game. If Henry was 100%, I like the idea, but although I'm higher on Reeves and Jones than most, I'd worry if they were both on the field at the same time.

I have seen alot more than two remarkable plays by Newman, but his tackling somtimes leaves something to be desired.

Did anyone read the article in DMN about Newman?

He actually said that when he caught Moss he realized that is the fastest he has ever run in his life!

This is really the first year that we all can see the burner speed he possesses. I love him on punt returns. His style is very reminiscent of Deion.

Such as ... when?

Do you think you could do a better job? I mean seriously when you're tackling guys 30-50 lbs bigger than you, you have to do whatever it takes to get them down on the ground, even if it's ugly.

I thought the best thing he did on that punt that got called back was running up to catch it in the first place. It was one of those lousy kicks that takes an effort to sprint up and field it, but if you don't, it can bounce 15 or 20 yards upfield and really cost you field position. Which is why coaches always harp on not letting the ball hit the ground. :)

I'm in agreement with your stance, but that is quite possibly the dumbest argument ever presented on an internet message board.

no way.

Newman is a damn good tackler and a pretty hard hitter for a corner.

You are probably closer to being right, but I kind of thought he showed Tony D-esque moves.

He sort of reminded me of Dorsett's body mannerisms.
