I hope Dallas use Newman like Deion and have him shadow Moss for the entire game. I think this wrinkle would effect the Commanders.

Deion rarely covered his man all over the field. He stayed on his side the majority of the time.

I like the idea........... The Commanders will try every way to get the ball to Moss. Maybe they should try it at different times during the game.

I'm worried about Moss on those screens and quick hitches. Dat was the master at sniffing those sorts of plays out and stuffing them behind the LOS and he did that in the 1st Skins game. With Dat out, and our LBs struggling in space, I think we're very vulnerable to that play. The CBs and S ususally cant make that tackle because they're facing pulling TEs and Ts. The LB must quickly diagnose and make that play, or else.....

I think the boys will be ok. They can give up some catches and yards to Moss, but not a 70 yarder for the score. If we double Moss and keep someone watching Cooley, its on their other no name receivers to step up and make a play. Can they do that? I dont know, but I would make them beat me before letting Moss or Portis beat me.

Really, Aaron could have easily tackled Moss on that second one... He just made the mistake of going for the ball.

And for the record, in his last four games, Moss has something like 53, 56, 65, and 58 yards, with one TD total. I don't think we need to change our scheme that much to slow him down -- we just need to be aware of him.

Ive seen Newman get burned many of times. And ive seen Springs get burned many of times. You all will be putting 8 in the box to stop Portis than BAM!! Brunell hits Moss down the sideline for 60 or maybe 70 or maybe both just like last time.

I think you will need to adjust your scheme to slow him down. You dont think teams have adjusted their scheme to stop Moss the last half of the season?? He proved he is a playmaker the first half but when your double covered and your the only NFL receiver on your team, your number are gonna drop. Ask Chad Johnson last week. You all hold Portis under 20 carries, you win the game in easy fashion. If not, we got a chance.

Yep, even today is the same scenario with our CBs...

Really?

I'd like a list of all the times you've seen Newman burned this year. Of the many times you've seen him burned, can you name even three? If you can, then we'll talk about it. If not, bye.

Well im sorry cant name off the top of my head the receivers that burned your beloved Newman. Im sure you all can name a few though. Newman hasen't played a perfect season, neither has any corner in the league. Corners get burned from time to time. Go ask Aaron Glenn. He know all about it.

That's just not how our D works. The problem with having Newman shadow someone is that it means everyone else moves -- for example in the nickel, if Moss splits out to Henry's side and Newman takes him then Henry needs to move -- either to the slot or to the other side -- if he goes to the other side then Glenn goes to the slot. You end up puttnig someone in a role that they have not filled all year. You might stop Moss that way but you really open stuff up for other guys.

I do not believe Moss will be much of a factor in this game. Brunell has been playing terrible over the past 5-6 games. Moss's production in that span has also dropped off accordingly. I wonder if Brunell has a nagging injury that he isn't telling anyone about. He has lost some zing on his passes and his touch passes havent been as accurate as they were in the first 6 games. He also looks as if he has happy feet in the pocket and is rolling out alot more and when he does he is only looking at half the field.

The real key to this game is Dallas "D" stopping Portis. Gibbs is going to be really conservative in this game and he is going to want to run the ball 30+ times and Portis will get atleast 20 touches. If Dallas can stop Portis on 1st and 2nd and force 3rd and longs that will negate screens and swings to Portis out of the backfield.
