Newsflash... Shaq may join the heat.

Shaq is looking for a 2 year MLE deal. He is going thru a nasty divorce and needs all the money he can get. Plus he burned his bridges in Miami.

Apparently Kobe's comments after the finals didn't sit to well with diesel. He's working behind the scenes to get this whole thing done in Miami and will join the heat. This is unreal.

Saw this coming a mile away.

He will sign for the mid-level exception, the Heat will have their starting 5, and can sign bench/role players for minimum contracts.

And yes Shaq is done, but he's still a big body, and the Heat desperately need a big.

Maybe be the single most difficult to watch in sports is when a player doesn't know when it's time to retire.

Especially Shaq because he was so great and funny at the same time. He's really a shell of his former self and will only hurt the team.

Kobe IS and always was the better (more skilled) player. Shaq couldn't even learn to shoot free throws. (shot put anyone) No one couldn't get close to him without getting called for fouls because Shaq was the NBA's darling.

Shaq never won a championship without a top five player at his side. Kobe won two without a top five player.

Don't get me wrong. He was a great (top five) player, but he never was as talented as Kobe.

This.

:laugh2: @ shaq.. Still trying to extract the taste of Kobe's *** from his esophagus. :laugh2:

The heat don't have a MLE since they are under the cap

Miami is still trying to get the taste of Dan Marino out of their mouths.

Shaq and TO need to look in the mirror and face the fact that both are done.

True but they're only 1.8 under after Lebron, and they still need a backup PG, and a defender and 3 point shooter. One of those will fill up a 2 mil contract, then they will have the MLE

That's not how it works. When a team is under the cap, the MLE is already included as part of the amount they are under the cap. If they use it, then they have to subtract it from the amount the have left to spend. In other words, they will not have the MLE this off-season even if they go over the cap at some point. Once that happens, all they can do is offer the veteran minimum. They'll be over the cap next season and will have the MLE for next off-season.

I can't wait for the cat fight between Lebron and Wade over ball hogging and attention whoring.

This is going to be the highest rated soap opera of all time when it breaks out.
