With Farniok injured, Dallas needs a new jumbo fullback for its short-yardage packages. An interesting option would be the former college tight end Jason Peters. As is, he's the backup tackle and guard on game days, getting a couple series per game subbing in for McGovern. Peters would really put the jumbo in jumbo and has experience catching the ball, albeit a long time ago. Giving him a few snaps a game as the fullback shouldn't overwork him either.

Now, I'm not expecting Dallas to go this route because a) Peters is 40 years old, so for the sake of keeping him healthy, they may not want him coming out of the backfield as a human plow and b) since they sub him in for McGovern, and McGovern has played the position for us, I think they would be more likely to do that.

Zeke could be the best FB in the NFL.

My god man!!! Where do you get your info?

We just lost Farniok which was our backup guard. How is that getting healthy?

Yeah, can't see any reason for that to happen now. Even if Farniok wasn't injured, Peters is our backup left tackle. I don't think anything we've seen from Ball would make us feel comfortable with him being the backup any time soon. Maybe when Tyron gets back, we'd consider something like this if we needed the roster space, but there's no real reason to cut the vet.

absolutely not.

Peters can block his tail off in a phone booth but he can't move at 87 years old.

Well, he's really only got to run forward into whatever section of line we're running at. It isn't all that much different than going to the second level to pick up a linebacker as a lineman.

Yeah, but your friends on FB don't count...
It’s all speculation and what not but rumor was started by Bryan Broddus but im with others we lost Farinok and waltz o we cant afford to let him walk, hes our Swing everything.if ay move need s to be made its for a vet backup OL for depth.

I would assume that we would use one of the TEs as a FB. Most likely Ferguson.

just make Zeke the fullback already, we can get better than 3.7 ypc from some halfback off the scrapheap

I think we'll bring up Lindstrom from the PS to be the backup center. With Peters covering backup tackle and guard, I don't think they'll see us needing a vet. If nothing else, McGovern can play center after getting some snaps there in the preseason.

Maybe, but we seem to like putting a lineman back there on short-yardage runs.

And some of you really enjoy hyperbole. Guess it makes you feel better about your position to say something absurd as supposed support for it.

Maybe it's just me, but Broaddus seems to have no clue and makes stuff up
