Peters to guard and McGovern back to FB.
Well there is common sense and then there is that comment about Peters as a FB.And some of you really enjoy hyperbole. Guess it makes you feel better about your position to say something absurd as supposed support for it.
True but still cutting peters seems like mistake at this point.I think we'll bring up Lindstrom from the PS to be the backup center. With Peters covering backup tackle and guard, I don't think they'll see us needing a vet. If nothing else, McGovern can play center after getting some snaps there in the preseason.
..What! ......Rumors will surely get peeps in trouble. All the rumors that I’m hearing is Peters is in jeopardy of being cut as the Cowboys start to get healthy. And I’ve seen it posted from multiple people.
Peters is not going to be cut.Yeah, can't see any reason for that to happen now. Even if Farniok wasn't injured, Peters is our backup left tackle. I don't think anything we've seen from Ball would make us feel comfortable with him being the backup any time soon. Maybe when Tyron gets back, we'd consider something like this if we needed the roster space, but there's no real reason to cut the vet.
Yea, I read that as well. He may not be able stay on the roster as a reserve OL, thankfully they refrained from starting him to at LT.All the rumors that I’m hearing is Peters is in jeopardy of being cut as the Cowboys start to get healthy. And I’ve seen it posted from multiple people.
Everything you hear and/or read is true, take that to the bank and be broke in a month.Yea, I read that as well. He may not be able stay on the roster as a reserve OL, thankfully they refrained from starting him to at LT.
We shall see.Everything you hear and/or read is true, take that to the bank and be broke in a month.
Peters is solid quality OL depth and not going anywhere.
absolutely not.
Peters can block his tail off in a phone booth but he can't move at 87 years old.
With Farniok injured, Dallas needs a new jumbo fullback for its short-yardage packages. An interesting option would be the former college tight end Jason Peters. As is, he's the backup tackle and guard on game days, getting a couple series per game subbing in for McGovern. Peters would really put the jumbo in jumbo and has experience catching the ball, albeit a long time ago. Giving him a few snaps a game as the fullback shouldn't overwork him either.
Now, I'm not expecting Dallas to go this route because a) Peters is 40 years old, so for the sake of keeping him healthy, they may not want him coming out of the backfield as a human plow and b) since they sub him in for McGovern, and McGovern has played the position for us, I think they would be more likely to do that.
As a college TE he had more pancake blocks than receptions...seriously.With Farniok injured, Dallas needs a new jumbo fullback for its short-yardage packages.
