Yes, and Quincy Carter is licking his mirror after just having done another line. Get a life.

Hard to go on what will happen next season when you don't know if a team is going to be as good as the prior season.
Did many, other than the teams fans, really think the Giants and Skins would have the records they have?
Did many, other than the fans that hate the teams, think the Eagles and Raiders would be as bad as they were this year.
So...kind of hard to really rely on next years schedule and think of what this years records were for a team.
Just something to consider.
For example, last year everybody thought we would be a soft part of their schedule in 2005 (based on 2004) and we beat several of those teams.

Yump. You really can't say what's going to happen year to year in the NFL. Teams come out of nowhere all the time, just look at the NFC East. Did anyone thnk Denver would be THIS good. Philly wasn't supposed to SUCK.

Get a brain. Carter has a higher winning percentage playing on less talented teams. And that's fact Jack.

Tough schedule but if we dont go atleast 11-5 and into the playoffs, then I think BP will retire.

I bet if QC was in there, they'd be scared out of their minds.:jerk:

Dwight Freeney was on ESPN stating that he thought that the Colts had the best line in the NFL cause Manning was the slowest human being he'd ever seen. Maybe I'm mistaken, but it would seem that D-linemen would much rather face slow on the draw pocket passers who can't read defenses rather than guys that make them chase him. I distinctly remember back in 2002 when Julius Peppers was chasing Carter around in the backfield and Carter outran him and threw the ball to a wide open Joey Galloway for an 80 yard touchdown. Pocket qb's are easy marks, mobile ones make you chase them down and look down right silly. Now you figure out which qb they'd rather face.

Can you believe someone is still dumb enough to try and defend Q?Comparing the crack head flake to any current NFL QB (which, by the way, Q is NOT) is pretty funny.

Hard to say, our 6-10 record got us the 7th toughest schedule in the NFL this year.

A team's record, or more specifically their order of finish in their division, only determines 2 of the 16 games each year. The other 14 opponents are pre-determined for many years to come.

For example in 2008, the Cowboys will play in Pittsburgh & Cleveland and will host Cincy & Baltimore.

Hmmmm, would I rather face Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Tom Brady, Drew Bledsoe, or Quincy Carter, Michael Vick, Daunte Culpepper, and Donovan McNabb? It's about more than being able to run around like a chicken with your head cut off - that BS is for college, where you can put your best athlete at QB, and allow him to take over the game. At the NFL level, it's about making good decisions, getting the ball to your REAL playmakers, and getting it there on time, because in the NFL, all the guys on the other team are just as fast as you. I'm not saying there aren't advantages to having a running QB, but up to this point, they haven't exactly been as successful as pocket QBs. So, I'm gonna go with what my eyes tell me. You can keep drooling over every QB who runs a sub 4.7, and continue to have googly eyes for QC.

I dont see us better than 9-7 next year. I think Key and Glenn are old and Glenn wont last 2 full seasons in a row. I dont see a rookie coming in and contributing immediately. If we dont get a good FA Wideout, among other things, I think we are cooked next year. Just my opinion. We are young on D and old on O. Bottome line.

It does appear that the Cowboys have a vigorous schedule in 2006; but it's no cake walk for anyone in the NFC East. From this Eagle fan's perspective (other Eagle fans may have different perspectives), you will have a mixed year of surprises if you play any of the teams depicted in your 2006 schedule the same. Games you expect to win may be more difficult than you first anticipated.

On the other hand, the Eagles have the luxury of looking forward to a much Better year in 2006! I can boldly make that statement that because while it was very difficult to repeat an NFCE championship performance, it would be just as difficult for the Eagles to repeat a "basement" performance -- we couldn't sink any further into the bottom of the basement than we are in right now.

Also, we've had a chance to take a hard look at what we have in the form of backup, rookies, 2nd and 3rd string player -- add a healthy McNabb (without the sports hernia); a healthy Westbrook (with a fresh new contract); a healthy Pinkston (the experienced WR will be greatly needed to help our rookies);a new offensive coordinator, and Josh Parry (a FB that showed great potential in 2005).

I can't speak for other team fans, but most Eagle fans would probably tell you that the NFC-East won't own us in 2006 -- there will be no cake walks anywhere!

2006 Home
Dallas cowboys
NY giants
Washington Commanders
Atlanta falcons
Carolina panthers
Jacksonville jaguars
Tennessee titans
* NFC North, by finish

2006 Away
Dallas cowboys
NY giants
Washington Commanders
Houston texans
Indianapolis colts
New Orleans saints
Tampa Bay buccaneers
* NFC West, by finish

I think the Eagles have more work to do than the fans will admit to. Their pass rush is horrible, going into next year without a big reciever pickup is a mistake, IMO, and Andy Reid needs to take a course in "Legitimate Game planning." The Eagles, IMO, need a bunch more size on the Dline. I've heard Abraham's name thrown out there, and that would be a mistake, IMO. The rest of the NFC East teams are set up to run over you, and adding another undersized lineman to the mix would not be a good idea. Until they fix that, they can have all the pro-bowlers they want in their secondary, they'll still look very pedestrian.

Yes, the Eagles will probably play better next season than they did this past season, but the NFCE will not be theirs for thr the plucking, they'll have their hands full and will not be kicking butt and taking names like it has been the prior four years. The NFCE has become the black and blue division but at least one of these four tough teams is guaranteed not to make the playoffs.

The 2006 season is going to be a real challenge to the Boys and they're going to have to improve just to compet well enough to make the playoffs.
Depth is what will prove to be the difference. Petitti and Tucker may not have been as good as we would have liked this year but they'll be very good depth next year, especially with a good offseason program.

We played well in every game except Washington & Rams game was a downer. We all know the reasons for the collapse from 7-3 to 9-7 so I'm not going to spell it out again. Season's over & we disappointed; Cowboys showed they could have done better. Loss against Rams also left sour taste

We aren't far away from becoming an elite NFL team IF we add the proper pieces in the offseason. Won 3 more games in 05, so why can't we win 3 more games in 06 to go 12-4 or better? Defense ranked 5-6 until last 5-6 games despite moving to new 3-4 scheme in 05, playing several rookie starters/backups & loss of 2 starting veteran LBs. We all know we need add 2 more defensive starters (FS & LB) & some DL depth if Glover/Ellis not coming back.

On offensive our OL needs major upgrade & we should start at center & RT, a good OG to replace aging vets also needed. But we also must add a good young WR who can help Glenn stretch the field. Can't be held hostage to double teaming of Glenn or injury to him. QB play will be interesting in preseason: Bledsoe is good starter but needs good protection; does Romo have talent to be good backup? how good is DH in his 3rd year & what happens if he isn't? Finally I think we need add minimum of 2 OL players, a WR and don't forget a FG kicker.

Believe we must add 2 defensive starters (FS & LB), a FG kicker & 2 OL players (center & RG) & a young quality WR. A good draft like last year & 2-3 FAs will make us into a team to be feared. Cowboys will slip under the radar early on cause media will focus their love on Giants, Skins & resurgent Eagles, but we will have the last laugh. Count on it; Parcells didn't come back to see this team miss the playoffs in 06.

If we can get the right pieces-parts in place this offseason, we should be able to compete with anyone on our schedule next year.
And the right pieces for me would be to turn our defense into an absolute terror. I would get my OLINE fixed in FA and get some serious DT/ILB/FS/OLB in the draft, and just flat out beat teams down on defense.

If we can turn this defense into a Bears type defense, with Bledsoe and company, I don't see any of those teams clearly dominating us. With the Oline we had this year, it's hard to believe we had a chance in every game to win it, except for 2 or 3. We're not THAT far from the top IMO.

Maybe that's a good thing, since we got up for CArolina, SD, and other very good teams, but rolled over too often for teams like the Rams.

Our schedule is gonna be pretty hard with an opponents win % of .500

8 games against teams with 10 or more wins this year

8 games against playoff teams

NYG 11-5
Wash 10-6
Philly 6-10
Tampa 11-5
Carolina 11-5
Atl 8-8
NO 3-13
Indy 13-3
jac 12-4
Tenn 4-12
Houston 2-14
Detroit 5-11
Arizona 5-11
Of the Non-division Games only four have winning records:

Tampa 11-5
Carolina 11-5
Indy 13-3
Jac 12-4

While x have losing records and are teams we should beat:

NO 3-13
Tenn 4-12
Houston 2-14
Detroit 5-11

And with Atlanta at 8-8 I feel we should beat that team as well (I'm not a Vick worshiper like many around here).

I do take your point that next year is not going to be a cake walk. But you have to discount Division Games; If you can't win in your own division you can't win, period. It comes down to the same thing every year, you have to win within your division and you have to win the games you are supposed to win outside your division. I see us as (at worst) 5-4 outside the division so we have to step it up in the East...as always.

The fact is Carter sucks, only you are afraid to admit it. You can credit Carter with that 10 win season all you want. Everyone with a brain will credit our #1 defense and weak schedule because thats where the credit belongs.

Our passing offense was in the lower half of the league in every category except INTs Quincy was ranked well at giving up INTs and his 18 ppg surely was not responsible for 10 wins
