Bull ****ing Idiotic ****. They didnt blitz because we used short passes, Bubble screens in the first game. They tried 4-man rush, with lot of zone. THis also did not work. Sean McDermott should be scared, not Wade. He is the one running out of options. Wade owns the cowboy record for coaching 2 consecutive shutouts.
I could not agree more. McDermott is afraid of getting roasted by sending too many guys. The Cowboys beat most of his blitzes in Philly with quick throws, so he played it safe today hoping the Eagles offense could carry them.

Now they have nothing to lose. Get burned or die a slow death.

McDermott is not Jim Johnson.

Didn''t they beat them the first game in Philly "when the the Eagles wanted to win" despite the blitzes?.

This is exactly the point.

Philly blitzed like crazy the first game, and lost. They came in thinking they would sit back more and try to jump routes on Romo. It even worked on the early Romo pick.

But ultimately you give Romo time he'll kill you.

Yes I expect a ton of blitzes next week.

But no, its because the Eagles now know that sitting in coverage will screw them worse than blitzing.

I guess that'll be the story this week about the Eagles playing soft so they could bring it next week. Doesn't make sense to me. At stake was the NFC championship, 2nd seed in the playoffs with a bye, and the possibility they don't have to face Dallas again.

Why would you lose to a team so you can beat them next week, when you could beat them this week and possibly be done with them?

You make a good point, that they could have won, and been done with Dallas. It didn't look to me that The Eagles were holding much back on offense. What killed the Eagles on defense was their use of the zone defense. Romo/Crayton killed them on that scheme. That had to be Crayton's best game forever? And were the Eagles saving Westbrook for next week? He sure looked slow.

If the refs hadn't interfered with the play, Dallas would have had 14 more points.

How does a 24-0 drubbing instill any confidence in the Eagles for next week, regardless of what they have planned for next week?

It still comes to execution and adjustments. Both teams will adjust, but the one that executes will win.

I will guarantee you that no one on the Eagles will say they gave that game to us. Every one of them, to a man, will admit they got their ***** whipped and claim that they need to focus and execute better next week or they will be home watching the playoffs.

:lmao: They had the 2nd seed on the line. Give me a break. They didn't hold back any punches. They blitz on certain down and distances. We didn't give them the opportunity.

...and when they did blitz, we made them pay.

100% correct. it's tougher to blitz like crazy when the team is rolling and the qb moves so well in the pocket. once Tony learned to check it down it has put him on another level.

Thank you.

Anyone that knows the Eagles knows that they typically blitz on 3rd and long, as well as 1st and 2nd with 10+ more to go.

We negated their blitz by getting Witten involved early and often. Our Red Jesus beat their Red Jesus.

Terry Bradshaw was saying that the Eagles pretty much gave the Cowboys this win and did not "Show Anything" so they could bring it out next week.

He said that the Eagles lost the game on purpose because it is easier to game plan a team that beat you than to game plan a team you just beat.

On NBC, after the win, Rodney Harrison is picking the Eagles to win next week and also said the Eagles did not show up as a "tactic" for next week.

There was just too much at stake for the Eagles to believe they phoned this one in, they got drummed. They have not had many high quality wins and their defense sucks this year.

I fairly certain that we didn't see everything from the Eagles today. I know we spread them out and I know we used the short passing game to neutralize their blitz packages but we didn't see everything today. Hey, it is what it is. For us, this was a must win game. For them, it may not have been as important but I do believe that it was important in that we are now a higher seed. No matter what we don't play in weather. To me, that's a big thing for us. If your the Eagles, they've played from the 6th seed and won games. They are a more mature team then we are and it's not as big a thing for them to over come perhaps. We will see if this is true or not. We have to beat them three times if we want to accomplish our goals. If we don't, it's 07 Giants all over again. I don't think anybody wants that.

Bull****, they didn't blitz because we spread them out at the beginning and they either had to play coverage or tip their blitzes, they decided to play coverage. It's nothing more then an excuse, they wanted this game and talked about it all week.

Great game plan. Going up two scores plus having a play called for their blitzes just killed them. They should be scared not the other way around. Not taking them lightly because Dallas still has to execute next week. But I'm liking our chances a lot.

I figured they were gonna figure that out by halftime and make the necessary adjustments, but I guess they didn't...

If they blitz they better cover us because we have a lot of weapons.

Yes, especially when we keep RW on the bench.

I disagree, I feel that this was much more of a must-win game for Philly than for us.

First round bye, not playing us next week, and the division title were on the line for them. All that was on the line for us was the division title basically.

They blitzed us the first game this year........... didn't work.
What they have to do is take advantage of their opportunities. Here's to hoping they can't.

The boys took advantage of theirs. Here's to hoping it continues.

Why was McNabb in late in the game trying to score if they were not trying.

Go back and watch the game again, you clearly see a lot of frustration on McNabb's face.

With that being said, I do think they will be better next week.

LOL, thank you, a friend made it for me after Philly choked away that Super Bowl.

Regardless of what some of the media is saying, my avatar has some relevance today.

Lets hope it does next week as well.

I think the Eagles backed away a bit from the blitz because they know they can't cover Austin and Witten. Now that Crayton seems to be more involved in the offense you're going to see even better WR-QB communication and even less vulnerability to the blitz.

I wish RW could at least make someone respect him running a fly route or something. The way they leave him on an island 1-on-1 and he still can't get open - if he could run a fly they might consider giving a bit of safety help over that way.
