I disagree, I feel that this was much more of a must-win game for Philly than for us.

First round bye, not playing us next week, and the division title were on the line for them. All that was on the line for us was the division title basically.

There was no chance for them to get a 1st round bye. The Giants getting smoked assured the Vikings of the 2nd seed. Philly would have hosted a game in Philly had they won but they could not have gotten the 2nd seed.

I think the Eagles backed away a bit from the blitz because they know they can't cover Austin and Witten. Now that Crayton seems to be more involved in the offense you're going to see even better WR-QB communication and even less vulnerability to the blitz.

That's exactly why the fewer blitzes. They know that Austin could beat either of their corners with man coverage and that Witten could abuse their linebackers. They were hoping to get some pressure from 4 man rushes and it failed miserably. Crayton's big game has got to make them even more nervous.

I don't think so. The Eagles didn't have the proper down and distance to blitz. They blitz when teams are behind, and in 3rd and long.

Dallas offense executed perfectly. Philly didn't stand a chance.

No, all the Eagles had to do was win. The Vikings needed the Cowboys to win to cement that 2nd seed. Vikings lost control of their own destiny with the loss to the Bears last week.

It was Philly's 2nd seed to take, and they choked it away.

I think what Hos probably means with respect to the quotation is that this is what will be said in the media. He also says that it isn't entirely untrue.

I do think the Eagles tried but I also think Reid sensed just after halftime when their first drive netted no points that this probably wasn't going to be their day and then chose to not dig deeper into the playbook. He was content to give the game to Dallas and started thinking about what he wanted to do next week. Next week the reaction will be different if they fall behind because there will be a greater sense of desperation - this is always true of the NFL playoffs with its single-elimination tournament style.

I believe you will see more blitzing from the eagles next week,but to say they gave the game away is ridiculous.The eagles had as much,even more to play for than dallas did.They lost out on a bye,and a 2nd round playoff game at home.Believe this,every team out there would love to have that bye,and get some rest this late in the year.I expect a different and better eagle team next week,but this week, they got the snot kicked out of them!

They didnt give us squat. Dallas set the tone from the first snap forward. That is why you didnt see any fire from the Eagles. Its hard to get fired up when you are getting mauled.

And for the record they were pretty fired up after Romo's int. It didnt last long cause our defense stepped up.

100% incorrect. Had Philly won, they would have been the #2 seed - period - with the first round bye.

seemed like every time they blitzed (not only this game but the last one in Philly as well) Romo saw it and made them pay. I for one welcome the idea of them blitzing more next week
