So if Parcells leaves after the season and we get a new coach we will probably return to the 4-3 defense. Do we have the players to make it work?

Starting D-Line? Spears, Ratliff, Ferguson, Ellis

Starting LB's? Ware, James, Ayodele (or Carp if he pans out)

Starting CB's - Newman, Henry

Starting FS - Watkins (this kid is gonna make it)

Starting SS - Williams

I think this D might be better as a 4-3 than a 3-4... Thoughts everyone????

Jerry will hire his next coach based on the the coaches support of the 3-4.

I mean as for now. That is what he has said.

Why take a backward move like that? How long will it take to bring in parts to fit the 4-3? Why not just hire a competent defensive coordinator instead?

Well, I have several thoughts for you

1. Jerruh has already said that he is sticking with the 3-4 and two tight end sets after Bill decides to go.

2. My lineup would be alot different.

D-line Ware, Spears, Furgeson, Ellis
Ratliff, Hatcher and Canty make very valuable back ups. And yes, I think Ware could stop the run from that spot, he has already proven he can take on NFL tackles and stop the run

LBer Weakside R. Williams Middle B. James Strongside B. Carpenter
Im a huge advocate of moving Roy to LBer permanately, not so much for his percieved lack of coverage ability but more because he really is a monster in the box, its where he belongs.

CB Newman and Henry

FS Watkins, I agree hes gonna make it, just gonna take time

SS Abram Elam, I love this kid, hes all over the field every time hes out there.

I know my lineup is a little unorthodox, but oh well, its my dream so let me have it.

or dallas can go after fisher and run the 46..which dallas has the right personel for..let roy roam the field and knock people out..

ellis/canty..ratlif/spears, ferguson..ware

akin maning the strong side james the middle and burnett covering the te or back

i dont know if any of u have notice but the top 11 guys arent always being played to their abilities in this defense..wares skills are so misused in pass coverage..when he could be pinning his ears back and going after the qb every play of the game..burnett is probably dallas best cover lb'er and would make a better one then ware..ware is a DE not a LB..

the biggest travesty on this defense tho is seeing ratliff not on the field much..ratliff just makes plays when he's in there..i think he could be a monster in the middle with spears..ferguson taking the double teams..by the way..have any of u noticed that dallas gets tremendous pressure when they're in the 4 man nickle? i dont think thats coincidence..

Only the Steelers and the Patriots like to use it. What huge failures. Oh wait.

So you expect to play the 4-3 with a DE who is about an 8 sack guy, period. Another guy who isn't a pass rusher by any means.

Your book ends wont work.

DeMarcus Ware works as an OLB in the 3-4. Because he's a hybrid player. He's not a true OLB.

Get real.

What have you given it time to do?

Answer my question, which is the last 46 team to have any success?

If we had an attacking 3-4 like the Steelers or Patriots then I think we'd be much more successful.. but with us playing a passive version of it with Zimmer.. well, enough said.

Zimmer was passive with the 4-3 too.

What is the common theme? Zimmer sucks.

I have read that the next coach will have to use a 3-4 or find another place to coach

I think Jerrah needs to keep his stupid nose out of the coaches face and let the new coach choose whatever scheme fits him. I think we've lived with Jerrah's heavy-handed approach and seen the results.

If the new coach prefers a 4-3, 5-2, 1-6 D, then so be it. Jerrah needs to keep his useless, non-football arse in the luxury box.
