Anybody have a reasonable idea on the comp picks we may receive for next year?

It's going to be tough because of Greg Hardy's contract. Until his suspension is either upheld or reduced, we have no idea how he will count. Based on this

Added
-Greg Hardy
-Darren McFadden
-Jasper Brinkley
-Andrew Gachkar

Lost
-DeMarco Murray
-Jeremy Parnell
-Bruce Carter
-Henry Melton
-Dwayne Harris
-Justin Durant
-George Selvie

Anthony Spencer's deal likely doesn't count, but there's a good chance that Selvie and Gachkar cancel out. Durant should also cancel out Brinkley and Harris should cancel out McFadden (will depend on incentives, but if Harris doesn't Melton should). So I can see us getting a 5th or 6th or Melton, a 5th for Carter and either a 3rd for Murray or a 4th for Parnell. Just to not get too optimistic, I'd say Murray and Hardy cancel out.

I thought the highest comp you could get was a 4th
Guess not

One estimate is a 4th and two 6ths if Hardy is really suspended for 10 games. That probably becomes a 5th and two 6ths if Hardy's suspension is reduced.

The oddest thing about the comp picks is that it does not seem to matter if it is a 1-year contract or multi-year contract, only the yearly average is significant (if these estimates are correct).

Why isn't Sterling Moore on the list. Not that it means anything, being 4 is the most a team can get.

He was a non tendered restricted free agent, not an unrestricted free agent that we lost

Thanks for the info everyone, good to know. I forgot he was a RFA.
I didn't get a chance to look at the links yet. Trying to do 10 things at once.

wow, didnt realize how much money was thrown around in free agency and it seems I am likely off a round on my predictions.

but I would point out one thing. according to overthecap, there are 45 potential comp picks, but there will only be 32 picks awarded. maybe 33 since the patriots lost a pick.

with that being said, Anthony Spencer's deal likely wont count and I think we get a 5th and two 6ths. might get the 4th depending on Hardy's suspension.

well, I can definately say 13 of those listed will not count.

I don't think Spencer factors in after the net loss per team. Dallas signed 4 and lost 8 counting Spencer so we get 4 picks.

Our fourth qualifier would be Durant at 3.6m, not Spencer at 950k.

There are 17 qualifiers that got less than Durant.

yea, but if Spencer gets bumped from the equation due to salary, then we signed 4, lost 7 and only get 3.

Green Bay didn't sign any qualifying free agents this offseason? Also notice all of the "good" teams are the ones with the most picks lined up (Broncos, Seahawks, Patriots, us, Ravens, Detroit, and GB and SF (only 3 each but a 4th and 5th in there)... we must be doing something right :)

This.

You want to build a consistent year to year playoff competitor?

This is a prime ingredient of the winning recipe.
