Are NFC-East Coaches on the bubble? Will all 4 head coaches in the NFC-East keep their jobs in 2007? Take a look ...and feel free to add/defend as you deem necessary ...

Cowboys

It wasn't too long ago during this season, Bill Parcells was getting some heat from the media, and several fans here on the Zone about his inability to create wins In Dallas. While the heat was during the Bledsoe era, do you believe that Romo is the answer to Bill staying another year or two? Does anyone really have control over T.O. or is he a loose canon?

Giants

Tom Coughlin is accused of not having control over his team players. Shockey, Buress, and several others do not seem to have the discipline required/demanded by most head coaches in the league. If he does not produce a playoff season is His job on the line?

Eagles

Andy Reid was stripped of "play calling" responsibilities as Marty Morhenweg stepped in as Assistant HC. Clock management, passing obsessively, elimination of the run game and more have pretty much calmed down as the Eagles step up there game. Does this provide any sanctuary for Reid?

Commanders

Joe Gibbs also relinquished much of his Play-calling, but is still making crucial decisions that Impact on the game. Some of those things include, not taking chances on 4th down, finally making the decision to change quarterbacks, challenging plays inaccurately, not utilizing the offense by opening up the field to the Likes of Randle El and Moss. Does his HoF status protect his job?

I don't know if anyone can control TO but I will say the way Parcells has handled TO has been very good. Bill is not going to get into debate over TO with the media like Reid did. Bill will not talk about TO to any length or respond back to something TO has said or done.

I hate the Eagle and wish they would let Reid go, he is one of the best in the league.

Maybe, but the Giants have been killed by injuries this
year. This is the same team, when they were riding high, that
came in and rolled over us.I think he might get another year,
but if they lose out, maybe.I'll say one thing,Ernie Acorsi is lucky
he's leaving.I can't imagine what Dallas and these boards would
be like if Jerry gave up Rivers,1st,3rd,5th,and 50 million for Eli.

No. Reid has killed his team many times because he is a dreadful game day coach. He can pile some young talent - he can draft up some brilliant offensive gameplans, but he cannot game coach. I pray the Eagles keep him and his inability to hold a lead forever.

I think Gibbs is the most likley one to go but it would be his decision rather than Snyder's.

As for Owens, I don't expect him back next year (didn't you hear, he's not happy) and yes, Romo IS enough to bring Parcells back for another season. We are in the playoffs this year and have the ability to beat anyone if we play well so who knows how far we can go. We might lose in the 1st round or we might lose in the SB or we might go all the way, who knows.

Coughlin will be back despite complaints by Shockey, Tiki, and others but I do expect to see some shakeup among the assistant coaches.

Reid is a fixture in Philly and isn't going anywhere.

Who stripped Reid of his play calling duties? Must have been someone with some big ones.
It does make sense, wasn't Marty the OC in SF when Garcia was playing good? He probably knows what plays suit Garcia the best.

I think we see the same (with perhaps one exception) HC cast next season. Three out of the four NFC East teams are either in or fighting for playoff spots. The only team not in the playoff hunt is playing significantly better over the last few weeks. Who do you go get that is better?

Coughlin is the coach most in trouble. I'm not convinced he is responsible for the Giant's problems this season but he may be the fall guy if the new owner feels compelled to make a change. The loss of Barber next season is not going to be easy to replace.

I think Reid is one of the Best overall coaches in the Leaguue right now. Every coach has his strengths and weaknesses and reid certainly has his, but the guy is a pretty good head coach overall.

What is eerie about your post is that if you put Parcells' name in place of Reid's, then you find an all too common mantra on this board about Parcells and these sentiments have been expressed by some very knowledgable and veteran posters too.

Parcells doesn't throw when he should be running, build his entire team around one position, or go 70-30 pass to run ratio. They're nothing alike. Parcells gets hammered for being conservative, because that's a nice comfy blanket statement to throw out there when you're looking for someone to blame and you want more points. Reid's just a numskull.

whats the point of this thread?

Reid, parcells and gibbs will not be fired. They all call their own shots and none are going anywhere if they dont want to.

Coughlin could be in trouble because acorsi is retiring, and anytime you get a new front office you could get a new head coach. I would look for the d-coordinator Tim Lewis to get a shot at the giants job.

Totally different argument. I am commenting on what you said below.

I have heard this a million times on this board. Is the statement true, I am not sure, but it has come up from time to time, that is the only point im trying to make.

I don't see much to this story. People seem to forget that the Giants have had their fair share of injury problems, but have still remained competitive in a tight division. The Eagles have bounced back form their own problems, also including injury to McNabb. Washington is ..well Washington. They have played better in recent weeks and Snyder has no real alternative to Gibbs. As far as the Cowboys go, it's likely that we'll have two Wr's with 1000+ yards and a young QB with a solid rating and future in this league. I would hardly put Parcells on the "in trouble" list.

Parcells will stay around for another year. I also believe Gibbs will also be back. Jeff Lurie would need a labotomy if he fired Jabba.

Coughlin is the only person in trouble. The players hate him and Accorsi is leaving. The disappointing season is not Coughlin's fault, but he will still be fired. He will probably find another job quickly.

That all may be true but they've been hurt as much by being undisciplined. That's on the coach.

I have to agree with you on that.
