Yep and he looked imprvoedfrom the season begging, really it was a first year offense, and remeber he took only 24 snaps in preseason, say what you want about protection, that hurts a player, you saw how much he played this preseason.

At year's end he looked like the same guy I saw when he was a rookie. He would look around a second, and if nobody was open he'd start to run with the football. They couldn't pass a lick. On December 18 (I'd say that's pretty close to the end of the season) Carolina held him to a 51 QB rating. They won the game and Vick got all the credit for his 4th down TD run late, but ESPN didn't bother much with the fact that Atlanta caused 6 fumbles and recovered 3 of them (I don't recall Vick playing D), or the fact that they had kick returns of 48 and 49 yards in the game (was Vick returning kicks too?). And of course the winning FG was set up not by Vick, but by an interception that was run back to the 23 yard line.

Be that as it may, the difference between their total team defense, their running game, and their overall record is huge. He may not deserve the hype as a top 5 QB, but he's a very good QB, and without him, Atlanta goes from a SB contender to a sub .500 team.

I don't consider them a legit SB contender with him.

Vick's number against a good carolina D, that was coming on late in the year

154 yards pasing 2 TD's 2 INT

8 att rushing for 68yards and 1 TD

Fummbled 2 and lost 1

ATL D yep played good, did vick play like manning no, did he play like he wasa great passer, nope, but who said he was, if anything i say he's a decent passer who can be good if he refines some skills.

Ovverrated i dont know how, nobody is saying he's the greatest QB, maybe the best running QB, but nobodysaid he's the greatest thing walking like you actlike people are doing.

Call me crazy, but I think the Skins will be in first place alone after one week.

Skins 1 - 0
Dallas 0-1
Philly 0-1
NY 0-1

Nobody is saying he's the greatest QB? I'll bet if you asked your casual fans, the guys who watch ESPN and get their info from that rather than watching a lot of the games, you'd find Vick listed among the top 4 or 5 QBs in the league. I was listening to ESPN radio one day last year and they had a call in question about who had the highest QB rating the year before. Probably 1/3 of the callers said Mike Vick. He had a 69 QB rating for the year in question. But most of your casual fans won't know that because they just see the highlights and believe the hype.

and those same casul fans would have seen DAnte/Manning/Brees/ Be/ TOm Brady, over and over and over again.SOme fans are stupid, they coudlhave been ATL fans, who knows, but if you ask any guy on the street who watches football, he would say vick is a great atlthtel good QB, not great but he is good.

Overrated, by the media maybe, but in the end he does the most important thing and thats put a W on the board, and i coudl care less wehther he does it with his feet or his arm, but the last time i checked the great QB in MAnning still hasnt seen SB, and he's been doing this longer thna Vick has:D

Doesn't really prove a thing. Great QB's don't always end up in Super Bowls.

I think Vick is a good QB. There are quite a few guys I'd rather have than him, but he's not terrible. But the media acts as if the guy is one of the elite QBs of the league, and I totally disagree.

Vick is an elite athlete. Possibly the most gifted athlete to play football ever. He's a good QB...nothing more. But given the right circumstances, his "good" QB play could be enough to get a team to a superbowl.

Philly will kill Atlanta...Wash will prob manhandle the Bears with Kyle Orton at QB...Zone will beat NYG...

as for us...hopefully Zimmer doesnt have a flop of a game plan and hopefully our special teams dont meltdown...Zimmer coaching, Cortez kicking, Condo snapping and our pathetic kick and punt return coverages are my main concern

when's he been a good QB? doesnt being a good QB mean you are a threat to pass the ball successfully?

he's a great runner, but otherwise he is nothing but media created hype

Well you have the upper echelon QBs...Culpepper, Manning, Brady, and McRunningback...and next you have the good quarterbacks. And Vick certainly fits in the good quarterback section. No matter how he goes about playing the position, to suggest he is not a "good" quarterback, is just patently wrong.

It could also be very possible that you see the following after week one.

Phil 1-0
NYG 1-0
Wash 1-0
Dal 0-1
I hope you are wrong but I think you are very close we might lose the first game if only becouse we beat ourself with mistakes ....we got alot of new players ...that should change to the better later on

Chicago at Washington...Washington wins easily and again think they're better than they are.

Arizona at NY Giants...Warner and those receivers win over Eli ... he's not a rookie, but Denny Green and company have had all summer to game plan this 2nd year QB...he'll see a few surprises.

Philadelphia at Atlanta (MNF)Philly still wins our division easily, but I pick Vick and a healthy defense this week.

Dallas at San Diego...I'm picking Dallas because I think we can control LT and will score 24 points ourselves this week

I certainly don't see Dallas doing any better than 9-7 this year, but after week 1, we may temporarily see quite a few HOMERS lose control of themselves and any grasp on reality.

If we beat San Deigo, we beat Washington at home then beat San Fran. That gives us a 3-0 start. So are you saying we only go 6-7 the rest of the year?

not really...his passing numbers are painfully mediocre...you watch him throw and see all the misfires and bad reads and its easy IMO to say he isnt a "good" QB

Vick is getting way too much credit for the two seasons where the Falcons made the playoffs...look at their defensive stats and their schedule those two years...then look at the defensive stats and the schedule from the yr where he was hurt and they missed the playoffs

and as for the hoopla over winning in GB, Brett Favre was the Falcons MVP that day, not Vick (who threw for barely 100 yds)...last yr they beat an 8-8 team that didnt belong in the playoffs to advance, then got punked by Philly w/o Owens
