I did this last year and got plastered [no not drinking plastered nor was I when I posted it...lol] that the Cowboys looked the best in the NFC East. Many rammed the Eagles down my throat. I stood my ground claiming at the time Cowboys looked the best, and would show it in later games.
Is there a self pat on the back smiley gif...lol...j/k
So to this years opening weekend. Who do you think looked the best and why or why not.
I don't see a clear cut team looking the best. As some sloppy play and bad decisions cloud some perspectives. Can these teams clear them up.
I think the Commanders looked decent at first, but then I realized it was the over rated Dolphins they were playing. Hatcher made some plays for them.
The Eagles started out slow, then picked it up, not sure it was them playing decent or are the Falcons just not good. But the Eagles moved the ball well at times. Bradford was off, then was on later in the game. Their offense will be a challenge. Their defense won't be, unless they blitz all the time.
The Giants at times moved the ball well on us, and their make shift OL played well. They always seem to have a makeshift OL that plays well against us. Or is it that we still have a lack of a pass rush. But we did get to Eli a few times.
Cowboys moved the ball well, but self destructed with penalties and turnovers, just like every first game of the season. I blame the coaches because they do not let the players play in the preseason. Fearing injuries...then what happens, we lose 3 players in game one. Frustrating.
Our D overall played well for the most part. Things can be cleaned up some and I think they will. Another late game drive allowed and the Giants almost scored. If our D is going to make the next step, they needed to make stops before they crossed the 50. They let a few long runs get them across the 50. They did push pressure on Eli to make him throw the ball away at the end.
Being a little bit biased this time I say we still looked the best, and shot ourselves in the foot too many times allowing the Giants to do what they normally do when we play them. But I am giving the Eagles a close second to us. Only because their so called super duper offense didn't look all that great, and their $51 million RB's had like 13 yards between them.
Tony came up clutch and created victory from defeat, Bradford threw a high pass that was tipped and intercepted and created defeat from a possible victory.
So we get the nod as looking best so far in week one, though it was a costly win.
