The Eagles play Falcons, Commanders the Vikings and we play the Steeler this coming week. That will say a lot about the East.

Right now we have a 93% probability of making the playoffs. The Giants are 65%, the Skins 41% and Eagles 28% are likely to make the playoffs.

I don't see the NFC as down. We are just up and playing our tails off. Atlanta is also playing good football.
I worry a little about Washington but if we carve them up on turkey day then they will leave my thoughts for 2016. We struggle with them for some reason and they had us this year if not for a cousins gaffe in the end zone.

Cowboys need to grind out a win at Pitt. I think that could demoralize the rest of our division a little.

Dallas is performing far beyond mediocre. I think the difference is depth. They've lost starters all over the field and have improved.

Romo
Collins
Bryant
Smith
Scandrick
Church
Claiborne
Lawrence

Having guys ready to step is really the difference between this year and last.
Dallas and NE are obviously the big exceptions, but beyond that, every team looks average at best.

I truly believe the parity the NFL so desperately wanted is hurting their overall product.

It's all about home field advantage at this point. The biggest games on the schedule are vs WAS and @NYG. 11 wins puts us in decent position to get home field depending who those wins come against. Atlanta is the only team i can see possibly reaching 11. We get to12 wins, it wont matter who we beat.

We should know better than to set the playoff schedule at mid season .

I still think our toughest stretch is coming up in next 5 games; Pitt, Balt, Wash, Minn and NY.

5-3 is likely in second half. And that's assuming no key injuries. It will probably take 11 wins to take the division. And this doesn't even take into account Romo's return at some point.

If the NFL is down which it appears to be then we'll probably fall back into the mix.

We're looking good. Two game lead is a great cushion but NY is right there looming if we slip and their schedule is much easier heading in.

Green Bay, Minnesota, and Philly lose today. Seattle, Arizona, and Carolina all having down years. Yes, the Giants are lurking and Atlanta is got a formidable offense, but does anyone scare you? Nice to have some cushion right now too.

I think, this year, more than any year.... we have to continue to take care of business,

Definitely no need to scoreboard watching or wanting to play one team over another.

I could see Green Bay, Seattle, Arizona, or Giants going 6-2 or better in the second half as they get healthy and kick it into playoff gear. I'm not ready to proclaim the NFC is down. We could be looking at two or three other top teams on a roll by playoff time.

I don't like to look too far in the future but this season is definitely an opportunity.
We are just fans. We can look as far into the future as we please. Now if you were a player or coach I'd be upset about looking into the future

Im not looking ahead at all, this feels jus like 07. Nothing could stop our offense in 07 until romo hit his thumb on an eagles helmet on the first pass of the game vs the eagles in week 15, then owens got the high ankle sprain in week 16.

The offense didn't have its big play threat in that giants playoff game. So I am just going to keep enjoying the games and not worry about two months from now. I also think just like 07 Dallas and NY maybe the best teams and may play two more times.

Atlanta has scored 35 touchdowns, thats really impressive. It feels like Dallas Atlanta for the 1 and 2 seeds just like it was Dallas and GB in 07.

The giants have the schedule to go on a 5 or 6 game winning streak leading into our game in December in NY. That could be for first place if we lose a game in the next month so even though it feels like we are playing for seeding I can not over look the fact that in a couple of weeks it could be the giants with the longest winning streak and everyone will be touting them as the team to beat because of their defense.

Long way to go.

While not a playoff contender at this point, there appears to be some infighting in Philly. Malcolm Jenkins seemed to take a shot at the head coach in a post game interview saying that they can't continue to play out of control, overly aggressive on offense.

The fact they are a favorite against the Falcons this weekend is interesting to me. If Philly can win, it's us and the Seahawks IMO for top spot on the NFC.

The league is always down. Rodgers is older, Wilson his injured, the Eagles have a new coach, the Vikings lost their star running back and starting quarterback, etc.

How does this differ from any other year?

We haven't had a back-to-back Super Bowl winner in the NFC since, guess who? The Cowboys.
The Seahawks are the only other NFC who has gone to back-to-back Super Bowls since the Green Bay Packers in 98-99.

The only team that has won back-to-back Super Bowls this decade is the New England Patriots.

Aside from the Patriots, there are no more dominant teams. So you would expect a changing of the guard from year to year. It is what the league has become. So why not us?

If we get gregory and claiborne back.. maybe even Jaylon back, we could do some damage.

Jaylon is NOT playing this year. Even if his leg were healed, he hasn't hit anyone in nearly a year. Football isn't a sport where you can just walk on the field and pick up where you left off. Besides, the NFL is a different speed than college, even if you last game was against the mighty Ohio State Buckeyes.
