The real race is first for division

Next big factor is home field - If we can crack a top 2 seed we get a bye and have a home playoff game. We are then two victories away from Detroit.

We control our destiny and a lot of the teams in the hunt have built in guaranteed losses. Only thing that can blow my theory is if 1 or 2 of the teams wins out and the other half fade completely and lose out the table.

Damn Eagles have potential to hurt us - by losing divisional games....Bring back TO!

with the right gameplan and if injuries go our way the rest of the season I dont think there is ANYONE IN THE NFC that we cant beat...seattle we had beat until the end...we beat the gints...the skins dont scare anyone...the only teams i am even worried about even a little are the falcons and the panthers..other than that we could make it to the superbowl...what happens when we get there could be another story...i think its the colts year...they bulstered up on defense and no one is going to stop them...they wont have to play in the cold...even the superbowl is in a dome...fate is on their side

Carolina does not scare me, if we played nothing but losing teams i'm sure we would look that scary also.

Until they beat a good team i'm gonna say it's their record.

Delhomme hasn't played that well this year in the 2 games they did play teams with winning records.

I wasnt, Carolina has been playing sub par defenses, and done well with two guys smith and Davis.

Smithhad his game, but Chi.held him and DAvis to no td's.

I'm glad we have already clinched a playoff berth and can just jockey for playoff position.

We can beat any team in the NFC if we play well, no need for lucky breaks or anything like that. But what scares me is we can lose if we're not careful to any of the teams left on the schedule, too... we have demonstrated long lapses of poor play and inconsistency on both sides of the ball. When we're hitting on all cylinders, we look like a superbowl team, and some time we look like a pre-season expansion team.

Just today we had series were we run the ball unstopably (nice word), then can't gain a yard on 3 straight runs. We've shown our defensive might where we look very Doomsday-ish, and also given up big chunks, and sometimes look like our DL gets blown 5 yards off the ball on obvious running play.

I hope we can refine the schemes so we can play well more consistently... then the playoffs (and beyond) are a natural consequence.

I have to check but I think we own tie breakers for #2 today
