NFC seeding looks right

It could all come crumbling down if we lose to Wash. This could be the greatest collapse in Cowboys history without losing our starting QB. And we could be regulated to fighting for WC slot.

OMG this game Sunday in Washington is so huge. Of course if we win will go up 3 games with 4 to go all but sealing the division and at least the 4th seed.

But CC, this game Sunday is full of all the drama a fan forum could hope for .

It's a big game, but not as important as the 2nd Dall/Washington game. And again, Washington is not going to end the season on a 9-game winning streak. No one in the NFC East is going to win out, Cowboys included.

Almost a must win for WFT, but not for the Cowboys. And even if WFT beats the Cowboys on Sunday (and I'll be at the game! I live in the DC area), they're not winning out.

Right now I think all these games are important but most important is the level of play of the Cowboys. They have the high expectation they placed on themselves and I think for their own state of mind, they need to up their play and start showing themselves as legit contenders. Each week that goes by where Dallas wins but is sloppy or loses only creates more pressure on this team, they really need to move things in the right direction and coming off extended time off I really think this team needs to take it to the next level. Don't take this as this is some do or die game, it's not but for the mental state of this team I do think they need to put some questions to rest.

Agreed. Though I think the team is feeling pretty good, mentally. They know they have to get better, but they're 8-4, have a 2-game lead...and are playing their primary division rival next, a game the Cowboys know if they can win puts them squarely in the driver's seat for the Division. So, us FANS are mentally unstable, but this 8-4 Cowboys Team, who hasn't had a healthy, full roster in weeks, they're doing just fine, especially as players start returning (and Zeke has time to finally rest the ankle).

The fans psyche isn't the same as the team's. At the beginning of the season if someone told me this is where they'd be after 12 games, especially given the COVID and injury challenges across the roster, I would have taken it for sure.

I'm sure as Dak said they are happy with the win but it is the level of play that I do think Cowboys must improve on and they have acknowledged it.

Zack Martin:
Discussions surrounding the Dallas Cowboys' ineffectual running game have primarily centered on Ezekiel Elliott and his banged-up knee. But Pro Bowl right guard Zack Martin said the offensive line takes some of the blame for the stagnant ground game.

"I think you've got to look first and foremost at our room," Martin said, via ESPN. "We take a lot of pride in that run game and over the last few weeks it hasn't been what we want it to be, so we've just got to get back to basics."

Players know these question will continue until they start delivering on it. As a fan I am happy with 8-4 right now, leading division by 2 games but again it is the expectation of this team to achieve a SB not just win the division, not just to avoid a 1 and done post season.

As a fan I believe in this team and their capability but talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words, this team must put things together and elevate their play because they know better than anyone that they are not playing to the level they are capable of.

Unless the game plans and in-game adjustments get better, especially on offense, I think a one-and-done playoff scenario is highly likely. And we need McCarthy to put the team in the best position to win, and not always be such a riverboat gambler like Ron from the WFT.

I think Oline issues are what is slowing this offense down. That has got to turn around and I think this team is capable of more than 1 and done. McCarthy is not the issue in my view, game plan and adjustments are not the reason for Oline not playing to a higher standard and without execution game plan and adjustments do not mean a thing. It still comes down to players going out and doing their jobs. Dallas wants to run, but kind of hard when Oline is not executing their jobs, that has to change.

So if it all ended right now we play the Rams

Where is the strengthening coach. Are tight ends if they could learn how to block in the run game.

I don’t expect Dallas to sweep WFT nor do I expect WFT to sweep Dallas. I didn’t expect either scenario from the time the schedule came out. It takes a significant talent mismatch for a team to sweep and there just isn’t that here.

So, assuming neither team sweeps, the Cowboys will still have a 2 game lead with 3 other games to play. Not a sure thing to win the Division, but pretty likely.

Dallas could blow this. Just judging by the way they are playing and the teams behind them.

I guess I do expect Dallas to sweep Washington because I feel we are a better team. I also expect to beat the remaining game with NY and Philly if that last game has any meaning to it.

Washington is a good team right now. Solid Defense!

Solid defense and a methodical offense who is very patient and willing to grind out long drive with the run and the short pass 4 game win streak. I understand who Washington is. I also believe this Cowboys team is better than Washington and if they go out and execute they have the ability to beat Washington.

I also think Dallas is the better team, but I also thought Dallas was the better team vs. Denver and Las Vegas. The “better” team doesn’t always win. It’s about the better team on that particular day and game. And which team the calls go against that day.

I will say that if Dallas wins this Sunday, they will probably complete the sweep.

I’m with you on NY & Philly.

I hope the Cowboys continue their NFC East dominance (when Dak is at the helm) and their win streak against conference opponents (six in a row). That will wrap things up nicely.

Irvin said the same. Said they were pissed off at some missed chances the last two weeks, ready for a break, but excited to make a strong push

At this point no one knows how it will play out. It’s currently the biggest game because we can basically put almost insurmountable distance between us or we can open the door for a collapse.
