That's a good point but I think we are clearly less talented on defense than last year. Nobody will ever convince me you can lose Ware, Hatcher and Lee and improve your talent base. IMO, the Cowboys will field an expansion team level defense in 2014.

Romo's a year older with back issues. We have no way of knowing whether that will be a factor this year. It's a roll of the dice.

But the real key why this team won't contend this year is the same as before. We have a coaching staff that lacks authority while overseeing a roster full of holes. You're never going to win that way. People get sick of hearing it, but I'll bang that drum consistently because it's the truth.

I have no patience to watch that slop in what was once such a highly regarded uniform. Looking at those names, it's an embarrassment for what the Cowboys once stood for.

I also see 5-11. the defense will be bad we may have a couple of games that it will be decent enough to win but in the end the lack of pass rush will be the end. also I do not believe that the oline will be as dominant as it could be and that we will struggle to score in some games and that will lead to about three losses.

Yeah, I think he said that backwards.

He's looking for reasons why they'll win, but he knows it's not happening. This is a very bad football team.

You know what, that is the issue. I think that the problem with this team is that it is neither very bad nor good. We are doomed to mediocrity, that could change of course if #9 is hurt for a long time.
