Yes, my friends, it’s time to have “that” conversation now. I don’t think even the most pessimistic of us thought we’d be here, but here we are.

If the season ended today, the Cowboys would pick 25th in the first round. But with every game they lose now, that number is going to drop.

It’s not impossible to imagine now the Cowboys losing out and finishing the season at 6-10. Where would they pick?

The very best pick they could get would be 3rd. That’s very unlikely, as it’d require the Commanders, Dolphins and Falcons to win out.

Looking at my crystal ball, I still see the Cowboys beating both Philly and Washington and thus winning the division.

BUT, and this is mind-boggling, winning or losing that Philly game will likely mean the difference between 8-8, winning the NFC East and picking 25th, and 7-9 (6-10 of they lose to the Commanders), and picking between 12th and 15th.

I would love to hear where you think they’ll be picking.

Oh, and by the way, it’s looking like Tua Tagovailoa will still be on the board at 12-15 if they decide to take that route (/ducks under the table). That’s a whole new thread, but through a series of unbelievable circumstances, drafting him and letting him red shirt for a year and watch while Dak plays out one year on the franchise tag is actually a viable option now.

You know we’re going in that “Dallas with the 21st pick in the draft...” range. I just hope whoever is HC isn’t interested in what the FO thinks, but what he thinks we need to draft to get over the hump.

Who ever comes in as coach will be micro managed by JJ and will have conflicts holding him or her back. The problem with this team starts at the top. The buck stops at JJ.

If the Cowboys finish 6-10 they will pick somewhere around 10-12. After last night's fiasco I really think this is going to happen. The Bears are not a good offense and they simply picked apart the Cowboys defense. The offense, and especially Dak was just off all night. In a word, "horrible" is the best way to describe this team. And remember, they were angry after the Buffalo game. They were "chippy" in practice all weak. And yet they came out as flat on defense as I have ever seen them. Who can they beat playing like this? No one.

The question now is, what do they draft? Since the entire team sucks I would say BPA.

This team can have 5 first round picks and they will just waste the talent. It would not make a difference.

At least put that statement on hold until you see who the next head coach is.

I am a Dak fan but I find the idea of picking Tua very intriguing. Based upon Dak has played in 2019, I certainly am not ready to hand him the $35M to $40M per year that he is asking. You can franchise him and hold him for a year at a reasonable number, red-shirt Tua and let him learn for a year, then put him out there in 2021 and take over the league while eliminating that big salary at top at QB.

We'd probably pick a weed addict, mental case, injury-prone player, or some combo of the three.[/

If we didn't pick a low effort, low production, drug addict, injured, small school losers would we have any draft picks? 4 of our last 26 picks are even decent. That is not how you build a winning roster. They lucked into dak who has peaked at a 20 mil a year guy but wants 35 mil, elliot was elite for a year now is jag but is due 90 mil, taco was a bust, hill is a bust and spare me the 3 year garbage, awuzie simply cant play, byron could never play despite him fooling you guys for a year I always hated that idiot, jaylon played everyone for a fool with his good guy message he is a greedy loser like the rest, d law was a horrid signing and anyone with half of a brain cell saw that coming he only shows up in contract years, lve had half a good year and now is on self imposed IR. Lee is past his prime and how many times can he hope for this team to have an even year revival? Maher couldnt beat a 12 year old down syndrome kid in the punt pass kick competion, we might as well just play 4 OL because we havent had a LG since leary left, tyron was great for a few years but not so much anymore he lives off his name although he is still serviceable, 72 is still a ghost might as well still gbs, martin is jag without fredrick, collins is actually the best guy on the OL and that says a lot because he sucks but at least he's consistent. Neither of our reveivers can catch or get any rac because the qb can't get them the ball in stride and nobody knows who's fault it is because we have a coach and owner who have no clue what is going on and wont ever hold anyone accountable.

If dak wont take 20 mil this is what they should do. He hasn't elevated a single player. His chip on his shoulder cause his mom died schtick only got him so far. he isnt a top tier franchise qb imo otherwise he woulda just took this team on his back and refused to let them lose.

Tank baby and trade up and get us our new QB franchise prospect!!!!
That's the only light at the end of the tunnel now and the sooner the better.

We won't finish 6-10 because week 17 in a meaningless game we will play our starters the whole game for pride and drop 8 picks.

Or we’ll already be eliminated, so Jerry will shoot Garrett and we’ll finally win a game.

I’ve never advocated for tanking. I think it hurts your team in other ways
But this could be the first time I’ve ever thought I wish we would just lose them all
