Unfortunate truth, but he sure isn't the only one....he should just keep his mouth shut and let his agents take care of it.
When Prescott uses his media training to answer questions with generic answers....he gets criticize.

When Prescott gives a nuanced thoughtful answer...it's unfortunate truths that make Dak look selfish..

This is why for 5 years I've considered Dak Haters weirdos.....they are not like us:lmao:

Well let’s be honest….if it comes down to would I rather have Osa and Bland or Parsons? I’d rather have Parsons.
The cap requires you to churn good players, draft well so you can and only pay the elite players in positions that are really hard to replace. QB’s, edge rushers are really hard to replace so those positions. And especially QB it may be you have to pay a good but not elite guy because “good” isn’t easy to get either. The other part is get value for the guys you can’t keep. Don’t just let them walk for a future comp pick, trade them for picks now

It probably is. This is what Jerry started. He puts himself and his money first so why would the players not? If Dak was me first he would be sitting out right now like Love did. He really could embarrass Jerry right now. He wants to be a leader but I would force Jerry’s hand if I wanted to be here….but I don’t think Dak does.
By default Dak Haters always side with the owners.

I love Jerry Jones....is twitter in human form.

Love was on his rookie contract.
Dak wil be getting $55 million, HUGE difference.
Also Dak is playing for his next big and maybe last contract. Rather for Dallas or another team.

NFL owners have discovered an uncomfortable side effect to the salary cap.

Because the amount that a team can pay their players is finite, you have the players on a team competing with their teammates for a larger slice of the pie. For every dollar they are paying one player, another on the same team is being deprived.

This has two effects that disrupt team harmony. The first is that many players must leave to greener pastures and is replaced by someone new. The circumstances have forced players to become mercenaries, eroding any concept of team loyalty.

The second effect is what must be a sense of resentment by some teammates. When a player chooses to stay after a large contract extension, it negatively affects the future prospects of others. They all act happy for their teammates but there has to be that underlying awareness of the ramifications of that extension.

Money means more than wealth to these players. It is a symbol of how they are regarded and prized by their teams. It can be a positive sign. It can be a negative one.

I agree with all the above. But the Cowboys have shown they won’t be players in free agency. So them making up 50 percent of the cap doesn’t bother me because if it’s not them it will just be someone else already on the team and no one is more important than Dak, Lamb and Micah.

How is it a huge difference? Dak can’t hold out right now? He easily could.

Why would he?
It would be detrimental to what he really wants to accomplish.

The huge difference, meaning, Dak knows what he will be giving up in money. Love was on his rookie contract. He was not giving up much.

How would Dak give up money? Explain to me how it’s any different than what Martin did last year? Genuinely asking maybe I’m missing something?

An obligation to his teammates concerning getting the most money? BS, he's not increasing the salary cap lol. These QB contracts just mean less money for the other positions ultimately.

I think this a year where Jerry will be OK with guys holding out and won’t cave. Honestly I’m not sure he is expecting another 12 win year. He’s set everything up to hit the reset button for 2025.

If he holds out, and Jerry does not cave into his demands. He misses games, and does not get paid. Then there are the fines on top of that.

If he holds out for TC, and is not signed, then reports. He may just find out Trey Lance is what they want him to be. And Jerry says, see ya. Sit out, do not get paid.
Good luck in 2025.

Now we know that will not happen, but it is one possibility.

Yeah but he still wants to win games.

I mean essentially what you’re saying is he’s going to waste maybe the last year or Martin and Lawrence’s career…that’s disgusting when you think about it. Never mind guys in their prime like Micah.

Why would Jerry not cave in? What’s changed in 28 years? What am I missing?

He’s talking about the Lamb and Micah’s of the world. Not the Peyton Hendershots lol.

Dak claiming he cares about anything but getting as much as he can is a flat out lie

Logically speaking I would agree but don’t underestimate the ego of Jerry jones.

For whatever reason he doesn’t seem to hold a loyalty to Dak like he does his other stars. If Dak elected to hold out I wouldn’t put it past Jerry one bit to roll with Lance. If it works he’s the smartest man in the world. If it fails he has the excuse of not having a quarterback. I think dak has more to lose in a holdout than Jerry does this year IMO.

I've been saying it for years, NFL owners and the NFL are to blame for ever yearly increasing and ridiculous team-crippling QB salaries. They simply refuse to put their foot down and create a salary-limiting team cap % for QBs. Instead, they are allowing QBs to abuse teams' salary caps with no concerns whatsoever to other position players and how it is crippling teams.
