This is BS

Sal Paolantonio is the author of the new book, "The Paolantonio Report: The Most Overrated and Underrated Players, Teams, Coaches & Moments in NFL History." Here are his five most overrated quarterbacks of all-time: 1. Joe Namath: His legend has much more to do with his Super Bowl III performance and his prolific off-field antics than his career stats. 2. Brett Favre: His image in the media has been hyperinflated to the good ol' boy routine, and that's why people like him. 3. Terry Bradshaw: He was ultimately an average quarterback who was surrounded by the greatest cast of talent ever assembled on one NFL roster, including eight Hall of Fame players. 4. Ken Stabler: His only accomplishment was winning the 1976 Super Bowl where the Raiders mostly ran and the defense stifled Fran Tarkenton. 5. Tony Romo: He barely made the team, and after one season of play he became a full-fledged superstar without really accomplishing anything to deserve it.

Well to be fair, that was probably published before this season. So it's not completely off the radar about Romo.

I'm sure it would be a lot different right now.

Overrated????? How? Did anyone nominate Romo for the Hall Of Fame that I'm not aware of? Romo had a QB rating of 95 and led his team to the playoffs. That's impressive for a 1st year QB and definitely deserved the pub he received.

Besides Favre and Romo I actually agree with him.

Joe Namath was ****. Most of the time he had more INTs than TDs and his highest completion precentage was 52% and most of the times it was in the 40s.

Bradshaw thew more lame-duck throws than good throws. He just had receivers that could catch those lame-duck throws. Many times Bradshaw had more INTs than TDs too and his completion precentage was never that great either. (to many lame-duck throws)

Ken Stabler was better than both of them without question, but not a true NFL great either.

To say Favre is nothing more than a Good 'ol boy routine is just stupid. The guy has always been a prolific passing QB and has several NFL records to show for it. You can just include his Superbowl ring as a topping on an already impressive career.

As for Romo, he must have written this book before the season started as he probably wouldn't be saying that garbage today.

Wow - Tony Romo is already one of the most overrated QBs in NFL HISTORY? Seriously?

Where does this author rank on most overrated sports writers in NFL history?

Why is Romo even on this list? He just played one full season.

Putting him on this list was idiocy.

This is the same guy that said we would lose to the Giants and Eagles. He needs to list the great Donovan McNabb as a top 5 over rated QB of all time.

Interesting.

We can't call Romo a great QB because he hasn't played enough games for us to make that judgement, but he's played enough that we can call him "overrated."

Gotta love double standards.

Someone should have helped this guy define over rated before publishing a book. Who's his editor? Ronald McDonald? My how the art has fallen...

You want to talk about over rated, look no further than that first round draft choice: Eli Manning. The fact that he's getting toasted in the press is because he was over rated. More was expected from him. Why? Simply because he shares a name with someone else.

That's truly over rating someone.

Focusing attention on someone who actually preforms above expectation, ala Romo, or someone who's made a name for himself by actually winning, ala Favre, isn't over rating them, it's recognizing their achievements.

He probably included Favre and Romo just to sell more books. After all, who would care about a book by this guy discussing QBs from the past. So to make it more relevant, he made sure to include Favre (Packer nation) and Romo (to gin up Cowboy interest).

I'm really surprised he didn't include Aikman in his "list"...

And we care what Sal has to say why...?

Why is it that every day there are multiple threads by someone who is upset about what some numbnuts has to say about us or about a poll on a website that is saying some other team or player is better than ours?

Who gives a damn? :bang2:

Nimrods like Sal Paolantonio, Skip Brainless, "The Peter King", and the rest of the mediots get paid to be controversial and to make statements like these. It is what sells because people like those who post this stuff get all worked up over it. They watch their shows to see what they will say then talk about them on every fan forum around. This is what the mediots live for folks and you simply feed them on a regular basis.

Tabloid journalism is what it's all about these days, getting people worked up about something and creating a controversy over every particle of news they can dredge up is what sells.

CNN has been airing the story about the plastic surgeon who walked out on an interview for days now as if it were actually news. They CREATE news rather than go out and report what is going on in the world. People like Brittany Spears, Paris Hilton, and Anna Nicole Smith would simply be minor items of news if not for the tabloid journalism rampant in America today. No one actually cares about them but because they are in the news every day, people are riveted to the TV and drinking up every tidbit they can find on them. Smith has been dead a while now and is STILL in the news. Princess Diana has been dead for a long time now yet CNN is still scraping up stuff to report on her.

Who gives a damn? :bang2: The mediots are entitled to their opinions and only those who buy into what they are selling care what they have to say.

Sal Paolantonio is an Eagles fan and it doesn't surprise me he would put a Cowboy on that list. Also, I'm no huge fan of either Bradshaw or Favre, but to call either one overrated is absolutely absurd. I'd expect no less from an Eagles fan.......
