We've had cable for 25+years. My neighbor ditched cable for satellite 2years ago, but switched back after 7 months for that same reason. I've noticed a couple of others neighbors that have taken down their dishes in the last few years as well. It's probably just the area we live in though.Yeagermeister;2779460 said:Yeap, when I had a dish it was terrible. I'd lose reception for no reason.

it's unofficial at the moment but should be announced soon.

That sucks. Here. You can borrow my axe. :chop:Faerluna;2779501 said:Trees that are not ours to remove prevent us form having DirecTV.
LeonDixson;2779605 said:Good God I hope you are right. I was going to drop Sunday Ticket this year if they didn't throw in Superfan for free because it was downright criminal that you could only get the games in HD if you had Superfan.
I love the redzone channel when I'm not watching a Cowboys game. Most of the action across the league and hardly any commercial time outs.

Money isn't really much of an issue and I refuse to live without Sunday Ticket.HowAboutThemCowboys;2779828 said:Dumped DTV last year and havent looked back. I refused to pay a premium for HD content. Plus, I went with a Internet/Cable/Phone package and knocked $100 bucks off my total cost per month for those 3.
I'm sure the dishes have similar deals, but they only offer it to new customers. A year from now, I have control over what I want to pay, because I'll be considered a new customer again.

I have season tickets and get the Cowboys on the local television every week, but I want to watch every team, every week, so DirecTV is great for me. I also get countless channels in HD that I wasn't getting with cable in the past so it's perfect for me.RW Hitman;2779854 said:the question should be: there still people with the dish?
people in that question should be reeally Cowboy fans because Cowboys are on regular tv so much in a year, why would anyone pay so much for just the few extra games....
Personally, I think Cable is better because Directv's hardware worked like an antique, so slow and features were very spotty. I get everything on cable in any weather. To me, the only reason for Directv is for NFL games.... without that, they would fold under leaving Dish Network to serve all the country folk.
But hey, to each his own, right?
When I was a cable only subscriber, I couldn't get anything after a cable line or a pole snapped, but I had the satisfaction of paying the full bill afterwards. Bad weather gets on my nerves because it messes with my signal for a few minutes, but my dish has weathered (pun intended) every storm including thunderstorm, sleet and tropical storm (knock on wood).RW Hitman;2779854 said:the question should be: there still people with the dish?
