All true, but is their front line going to all of the sudden show up? 2 second routes plays into the hated BBDB D that worked for us last season. If we can get at least 2 TDs against their D, it'll still be interesting.

That's, most assuredly, worth noting. It's also true that Eli rids himself of the ball very expeditiously. Our (hopefully improving) DL will be obliged to assert themselves as never before to rough him up . . . he doesn't appear to function nearly as well whenever that occurs! :)

These are the things they have to convince themselves of to make going to training camp worth while.

Evidently so. Of course, giving lip service is infinitely easier than actually doing it. Nevertheless, they have every reason to be confident. It's past time for the Cowboys to show 'em that we're capable of beating 'em anytime they crow too much. Our defense really needs to step up, bigtime! Then again, the same can be said for our offense. Let's face it, they're the team that we must overcome to take the division. It's quite do-able.

I don't get the optimism here. Our defense is a shambles, lead RB is an idiot destroying his career, and the HC is a poser with no control of the squad.

This year is gonna be a disappointment folks. Flame me now, apologize later..

The Giants have better skill position players but their o-line is still a mess. The Eagles have the second best o-line in the NFC after Dallas'; but I'm still not totally sold on Wentz or their receivers. It's a toss up.

If Jeffrey can stay healthy, he's basically Dez Bryant. Jordan Matthews as a number one is a fail. But as a number 2? That's actually pretty nice.

The Giants have the ability to shut down Zeke. Their defense is taylor made to stop Zeke.
Them losing Hankins in free agency was a great thing for us.

They lost Hankins and drafted Tomlinson.

G/S/M, them.

i think the NYG end up crapping the bed this year...but if history is any guide Wash or Philly will win the division. If they have problems protecting Sh-eli they have no running game and Sh-eli is about one more down year from being on the hot seat. Their defense isn't dominating and Dak will play better against them this year. (of course we may not have Zeke when we face them)
I'm not sure a wildcard birth wouldn't be better for us anyway, JG has proven he doesn't know how to manage winning/success.

They were one of the youngest teams in the league. They won 13 out of 15. The three they lost were by a total of 7 points. This offseason has looked really similar to the last three. It's easy to focus on the negatives, but it ignores the reasons for their recent success. A strong OL. Dominant running game. Efficient passing game. And a defense that's hard to score against. There's a reason Dallas is the favorite in the NFC according to the data guys and Vegas. The Giants ain't.

I like it. Makes the matchup more exciting.

I did catch Harris on NFL morning show. Did anyone else notice his feet didn't touch the floor in his chair? Not even close. Kinda funny.

We didn't do as much flapping of the gums last year as we are this year.

We're talking as much as we did in 2015.

And we know how that one ended up...

Our defense is a shambles

Way exaggerated.

lead RB is an idiot destroying his career

Way, way exaggerated.

and the HC is a poser with no control of the squad.

Way, way, way exaggerated.

Garden variety hyperbola, at its finest.

With your (rather unsubstantiated) proclamations, you can't expect more than, what... 4 or 5 victories for Dallas this season?

I mean, I'm not one saying the Cowboys are going to win a ton of games and that anything less than 10 is going to be disaster. I've watched too many seasons of NFL football to expect much of anything (good or bad)... But Dallas is going to be a contender IMO. They might not win the East (although they might), and they might even miss the playoffs... but they'll be in the running.

Even when the team was much less talented than it is now, they still eeked out 8-8, 8-8, 8-8. Since then, the team has won 12 and 13 games and except for the 2015 season, which was an unmitigated disaster at QB for Dallas, Garrett has never had a losing season.

Frankly, it is unrealistic to expect some kind of collapse with this team unless you have catastrophic injury.

I think you are overreacting. Our RB isn't about to be convicted of anything, let that sink in for a minute, and if he receives a suspension it will be because of how all of these reported incidents have reflected on the league ... not for the substance of any singular issue.

The defense is far from in shambles. Last year at this time most people on this forum were convinced this was one of the worst defenses in the league ... that was BS. You are scared of the youth, I can understand that, but the talent of this defense collectively is better than last year. That defense finished 5th in the league in scoring and 1st against the run. Far away from "in shambles".

Our coach just received "Coach of the Year" for directing a team with a rookie RB, QB , and the same defense everyone thought was going to be horrible to a 13-3 record ... best in franchise history.

Panic when you start seeing the tangible results of what actually happens on the field matching up to a media driven storyline that helps promote their business in a dying industry.

Gonna be hard to load the box with Beasley and Switzer on the field at the same time. Pick your poison.
