I'm sure they're interviewing a lot of people they will have no shot at. Part of the business.

as much as i respect his game as a college qb....i grew up an aggie fan.

it all ends with the respect i have for him as a person..

Hopefully this leads to big things! Johnny can be very persuasive. Him and Jerry seem to be cut from the same cloth.

The only reason to think we'd ever go after this guy is that Jerry LOVES a sideshow.

Manziel is a NFL failed bit in the making. Another great college QB who isn't going to fit in the NFL.

Listen, for all we know, maybe the prognosis on Romo's full recovery isn't as rosey as we're led to believe. Don't underestimate Jerry on draft day. Jerry may be going after the old lightning in a bottle thingy.

so the team used 1.7% of their interviews on a guy that they aren't going to have

Jones just trying to get headlines

any publicity is good publicity to jones

Exactly. Every team does this, every year. Part of the business.

This isn't some scheme by Jones to grab headlines.

I wouldn't take Manziel even if he fell to Dallas at #16. It's a boom or bust proposition and a wasted interview.

Completely agree. But we (and all other teams) talk to everyone. But it's JF and Jerry so it makes news.

QB is the most important position in the team,do we trust tony romo to last the whole season? is orton coming back? .how many times have we passed up the oppurtunity to draft a good backup qb? we could have drafted wilson, kaepernick etc,the list goes on.romo wont be here more than 2 years imo and we should draft a qb to take over if we have a chance.

the team only gets 60 interviews, they are not wasting this interview for publicity reasons, cmon now.

they legitimately like manziel. the ONLY thing preventing us from drafting him IMO is romo's contract.

With the way that the rookies are getting paid, I don't think that Romo's contract would stop the Cowboys from drafting him.

Yeah but the issue is explaining away Romo's massive contract only 1 year into the deal. That would be a colossal turd for Jerry to shine.

Jerry should have listened to me and let Romo play out his deal. At the very least he'd be looking at a significant discount right now considering his back issue.

I recall reading somewhere - probably here - that Manziel has already talked to Jerry for hours.
