According to NFL.com (Playoff Scenarios)

NFL.com said if Washington Lose and Minnesota Vikings win ... Minnesota Vikings makes the playoffs. But I looked in the tie-breaking rules and I see that it says with two-clubs the first tie-breaking rule is Head-to-Head Tie Breaker.
The Commanders beat the Vikings already. I figured either way the Vikings are still out of the playoffs.

What am I missing?

Am I wrong about this? If so, explain.

You are missing their records. They are both 8-7 right now. If, as NFL.com states, Minnesota wins and Washington loses, that puts Min at 9-7 and Washington at 8-8, so there is no tie break because Minnesota has the best record.
