NFL Combine weigh in...

I would take him at 14 if he is top player on my board left.

I like Glenn more than DeCastro, I'm in the minority on this I know. But I like bigger more pwerful OL.

Also don't let bench numbers change your minds. I expect Glenn to put up good numbers but with his long arms he might not be that much more than DeCastro.

Redball and Callahan seem much more happier with smaller O linemen. And their experience with Bigg won't help Glenn. Might be the reason we have heard no official interest in Nicks, since he is pretty big as well

Really lets look at what ole Redball did to get the running game going. He brough in Holland and Dockery, two bigger OGs.

Callahan had big OLs when he was at Nebraska.
At the NYJets he has
Mangold 6/4 310
drafted Ducasse 6-5 325
has Slauson 6-5 315
and also had Woodey for 2-3 years there and he was a pretty big boy

Bigg had two great years at Dallas until he just got old.

Glenn moves great for his size and at his age he isn't getting slow anytime soon. I think Garrett going back to Dockery and Holland shows that he sees going small across the OL which Jerry has alreadysaid was a mistake.
Jerry said you can go small at one spot but you have to have meat on the OL.

parsing Jerruh speak that might be more the case of talking about Arkin and Nagy.
PIcking up cheap older players is different then investing high picks in the Draft.

And by the way none of those guys are within 20 lbs of Glenn.

and by the way Red Ball wants pullers and guys who can really get out to the second level.

Basic laws of physics shows that the more mass the object has the more energy it requires to move it.

Basic law of football is that a guy that weighs 345 lbs is just not going to be as quick as a guy that ways 310 or so.

Now LA was a phenomenon. So unless you think Glenn is the second coming of LA, he is too big.

OVersized O line players have more injury problems on the whole as well.

DeCastro is one of, if not the best pulling OG in the draft.

I like Glenn too, but I like DeCastro's overall game better than Glenn's.

Glenn is going to be a really good pro. I'd have no problem drafting him if we moved down in the first round.

I think he will be better then DeCastro, seriously.

Well I will say, I do love Glenn's versatility, especially when you consider we don't know how good Free will be next year. Last year, Free was a disaster, hopefully he comes around, but if he doesn't, I would love to have the versatility of Glenn to be able to move to that position.

I'm with you on this.

But DeCastro is going to be really good. You can't go wrong with either.

You must not have ever seen Glenn play OG. They guy can pull and get to the second level as good as any. He displayed this in the senior bowl practice.

And to kill your basic law of physics, Carl Nicks is the same size of Glenn and is a top 3 OG in the NFL. Has no problem moving and pulling and no injuries.

well if you can do math, Glenn is 245 and Ducasse is 225, so yes thats 20 pounds, but just by a little.

Woody would have been in his day when he played. I think he played at 330.

I would agree its rare to find a OG this good with this mobile of feet and agility. But his strength and size is so great to have. If you can move and have that ability to move. Then yes I would take aguy with size and agility over a small player with the same agility.
I would take a Larry Allen or Carl Nicks over anyone.

that is a very minority view. I have watched them both and Decastro is clearly better.

You put a top 310 lb guard versus a top 345 lb guard and lets see who is quicker; who is less likely to whiff on a very quick 240 lb LB.

That is basic physics and whether or not you like it that is the way the universe works.

As good as Nicks is, LA in his prime was truly in a class by himself.

Nicks is extremely good; no doubt. But I just think that Red Ball likes the smaller guys.

I like Glenn , but DeCastro is clearly the better player . You are right , that is a very minority view . I would say in the 1 out of 100 view .

I think it's closer than many think. You can't go wrong with either.
You also have to look at where they played.
Decastro was a RG playing in the pac 12 and performed very well
Glenn plaed LG and moved out to LT this year in the SEC and performed very very well.

DeCastro killed the bench today with 33, very good.
Glenn with longer arms had 31, which is very good

Blake is said with 22
Mike Adams had only 19
Konz with only 18

Come on guys I tried this yesterday at the gym, I benched 225 24 times and I only weight 220.. Just boggles my mine when I can do more than these future NFL OL.

You failed to mention you have a 21" armlength and Im pretty sure those were 22.5 lb barbells you were lifting, not 225 lbs.

hahah yeah right,

at 6'1" i diubt I have 21 inch arms, I don't have people measure my arms. But it two 45 pound plates on each side. Thats 225.

I work out with 255 12, 10 and put 265 for 8 and 275 for 6 every work out 3 days a week.
