http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-pittsburgh-steelers-boast-nfls-best-triplets

1) Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers, Eddie Lacy & Jordy Nelson

If we would've compiled these rankings a week ago, this trio would not have held the top spot. ... But after Sunday, the Packers' stars are hereby R-E-D-E-E-M-E-D (and Aaron Rodgers is still the B-E-S-T).

2) Pittsburgh Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger, Le'Veon Bell & Antonio Brown

Good news: All of these players rank in the top six at their respective positions. Bad news: None of these players have been productive enough after halftime this year.

3) Denver Broncos: Peyton Manning, Montee Ball & Demaryius Thomas

Ball is the clear weak link here. Maybe we should replace him with Julius Thomas or Manny Sanders? Nah, Peyton's already had enough rules changed to benefit him.

4) Dallas Cowboys: Tony Romo, DeMarco Murray & Dez Bryant

With a tip of the cap to that dominant O-line, this trio suddenly seems like it can't be stopped ... except by injury.

Aikman, Emmitt and Irvin are ranked #1 all-time

Bell and Brown have been doing amazing things this year, if you put any of the other top eight QB's on the list with them they end up the clear No.1

Lacy has been horrible this year so I can't agree with the pack topping it.

That's mostly due to the fact that that OLine is awful. Rodgers doesn't seem as able to hide their deficiencies as he once was, and it's stifling the whole offense.

On this list, none of the teams have the top talent at all three. Dallas is the only team with a top 5 guy at each position.

You think Romo is a top 5 QB?

I can't agree with the Packers being #1 with the way Lacy is playing. Evidently he has fallen into the big man trap of thinking he is a scat back.

Top 10 QB, then Top 5 RB, WR.

I'd rank him over Roethlisberger, any way. And I don't think there's any doubt that Murray and Dez are better options than Bell and Brown.

Hmmm. I love Murray. I also have TONS of respect for Bell. 245 lb RB. Averaging 5.3 ypc. Already busted off a 81 yard run -- ie he can go the distance. Also a VERY good receiver (on pace for 76 receptions this season and average 10+ yards per reception).

Same with Denver being 3.

Bell has done NOTHING.

They're still banking on Manning to shoulder the load and win the big one. If that's the way they want to go............... their defense better be lights out.

I like Bell a lot, too. Not knocking him. But I do think that most would grant that Murray's the more impressive RB in the triplet equation than Bell is at this point in 2014.

Exactly.
At this point, I'd put Dallas over Green Bay and on top of this list. Eddie Lacy hasn't really done much this season. Jordy Nelson is good, but he's more a product of Aaron Rodgers.
I'd probably put Chicago second on the strength of Forte and Marshall, who I think are a better tandem than Ball and Thomas.

It's almost laughable to have Pittsburgh ranked above Dallas. And I'm not trying to be a Cowboys homer either.

Bell and Brown are really good and Big Ben is top 15 but I wouldn't put them above what we have right now.

The All-Time list is laughable too. No way the Patriots team of Brady, Maroney and Moss or Manning, Mareno and Thomas should be listed above Staubach, Dorsett and Pearson; Peyton Manning, Edgerrin James & Marvin Harrison; Steve Young, Ricky Watters & Jerry Rice or John Elway, Terrell Davis & Rod Smith.

These young guys seem like they have no understanding of NFL history. Besides, it's called the "Tripletts," which implies that all three players had an impact on the offense. Maroney? Mareno? Pulease.

He was my First Round pick, too. I'm sitting here, staring at my fantasy team, and my astounding 1-3 record. A tear rolls down my cheek.

I guess this is what it feels like to be a Saints fan.

Bell has similar production but has a terrible offensive line and a limited passing game around him. He's been more impressive this year, imo.

Yeah was just about to say: I don't think the choice between Bell and Murray is at all easy to make.

Dez over Brown for sure. Murray over Bell? Think I better consult the Magic 8 Ball.

Bell has 378 yards, 1TD. Murray has 534 yards, 5 TDs. They have similar YPCs (though Murray's is still higher), but they don't really have similar production. Murray's clearly ahead of the RB pack after four games, whether it's because of his OL, or not.

Remember, none of these arguments are adjusted for the relative strength of the team's OLs.
