The Dallas Cowboys are going to the playoffs.

Because of the Washington Commanders' loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, the Cowboys (11-1) became the first team to officially punch their ticket to the playoffs.

At this point, it seems like the rest of the NFC East will eat itself alive while Dallas coasts into January. The Giants faltered with a golden opportunity against the Steelers on Sunday.

The Eagles, far removed from the conversation, also lost. On the heels of the NFL's leading rusher, Ezekiel Elliott, and fantastic rookie quarterback Dak Prescott, the Cowboys will head into the postseason as a heavy Super Bowl favorite for the first time this decade -- and with far fewer top-tier teams to contend with than when Dallas went 12-4 and made the playoffs two years ago.

I was just watching the Redzone when the ticker at the bottom had "Breaking News" the Dallas Cowboys.......then my heart stopped thinking it was like always something bad. Lol

Congrats to my team for clinching a berth in the earliest time in my lifetime of being a Boys fan.

I believe a win over the Giants next week clinches the NFC East and a first round bye. Not sure about home field. Might depend on what happens in the Seattle game tonight.

It certainly clinches the East. So will one more win in any of the other games, plus one Giants loss, in the unlikely event the Cowboys slip next week.

Actually, I don't think a win clinches a first round bye next week, but we can with some help next week.
