No. If it's in the area I'd rather it actually be in Dallas or Fort Worth.

I don't know why anyone not making money directly off this thing, gives a damn where it's held. If you aren't one of the few people crazy enough to go sit in the venue to watch the thing live, what possible difference does it make?

Would it even be worthwhile to have it at a stadium?

RCMH holds like 7K I think, probably less with all the floor space occupied by tables for teams.

I'm not sure it'd be worthwhile to even host 5 times that many people. That's like a JAX home game head count. Days 2 and 3 would probably be empty.

So who'd like to see this happen?

Heard it discussed on the radio.....actually media folks thought it would be a bad idea. They stated the stadium is to big and the draft does not really have a good record for drawing in the fans. Great for TV but not live. Day One is the biggest draw and down hill from there. On day 3 the seats are almost empty and the NFL actually gives next year tickets away to anyone who stays for day 3. Such a large stadium would could largely go empty and bring bad publicity to the NFL......thought the process of moving the draft is 3-5 years off.....NFL has to build the fan experience. But on the other hand,....that is what Jerry Jones does best....

Maybe it's just me, but I think it's terribly tacky to hold the draft at a particular teams stadium. I am trying to think how I would feel if the draft were held at Fedex Field, Lincoln Fin., or even worse Metlife. I don't think I would like it as a Cowboys fan.

Is there a really a difference between that and having at a place overloaded with New York fans?

I think it would be great to move it around from stadium to stadium. Each pick by the home team would get the same reception each of the New York teams' gets every year and hear the same kind of boos Dallas' picks get every year at Radio City.

I think it would have a better chance of drawing more fans by moving around (because fans in each area would want to experience it) than keeping it in the same place.

Maybe. The NE is so densely populated and has so many teams in the general area it's hard to imagine any other city could offer a similar pool of super-geeked NFL fans to host.

Why not move the draft to AT&T Stadium? The NFL actually had to reschedule the draft because their normal venue in NYC (Radio City Music Hall) booked something else during their scheduled draft period. It would bring some always-needed commerce to the Metroplex, and Jerry could guarantee they would have a venue every year. It has to be held someplace, and NYC dropped the ball. Besides, the only tradition that would be lost would be Jets fans booing their pick. Cowboys fans could easily pick that up.:)

I don't think other areas could offer a similar pool, but they could possibly draw heavily from fans who can't go because it's in New York. It might be best to hold it regionally, with a limited number of venues involved like with the Super Bowl, because Arizona, New Orleans, St. Louis fans, etc., might not feel the need to go to Arlington for it if they know it's going to be held in their teams' stadiums anytime soon.

The NFL probably needs to make it special for those areas in order to draw the fans.

I don't like it.

Would make Jerry more inclined to make a splash move.

It's already tough enough to control him on draft day, imagine it being in his house. If the draft was held in Dallas this year I could see him mortgaging the future for a guy like Clowney.
