I don't know how accurate this site is but I doubt it happens. I'm not gonna do the woe is us thing about how we don't sign free agents, I'm just predicting that Payne gets the franchise tag.

I think with the sale of the team happening, there is a possibility, but from what I'm hearing in the DC area, there will likely be a directive that the front office can only commit so much in future salaries. So any hope Commanders fans have that they'll sign him or a QB long term is wasted.

But with the franchise tag, no money is due until week 1 and considering salary floors, there isn't much of a reason to not tag him

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

I would love this to happen. But Jerry and fam are on the boat the first week of FA. That is usually when players like Payne are signed.

They did draft his replacement last yr and signed Ridgeway away from us, so there is a possible chance he could hit the open market. Also, they just gave Allen a huge extension, not sure they want to tie up so much money at 1 position.

“Jerry (Jones) and the Cowboys are going to be aggressive. They want a big defensive tackle and I think they’ll end up landing Daron Payne. He’s a perfect fit and the interest is mutual.”
There is NO chance he leaves the Giants. He will get a new deal or tagged.

There is NO chance the Cowboys are going to be aggressive. PLEASE.

Only money Stephen will dole out is to their own players, Diggs,CeeDee etc. Not even on their radar to sign anyone on Payne's level or the level below. Maybe 3rd tier FA but that is if they get backed into a corner like they did to themselves at WR last off-season.

Dallas is going to take care of their homegrown talent before signing top tier free agents. Would love to have Payne or Tomlinson but wishful thinking at best.

Maybe if Bezos buys the Commodes he wont value DT play either. That is about the only way I see him not returning.

The Jones family's yacht will be somewhere in the Caribbean when Payne signs with the Raiders or whomever.

While any Cowboys fan would read this and go, yea right the rumors are very much out there including from Payne's agent that interest is mutual.

WFT is tremendous at DT and needs help everywhere else.
There are A LOT of good free agents WFT can use more than a monster DT IMO.

Dallas could consider Payne the final piece to this defense and then draft almost all offense early.
