They better get their **** straight. I'm tired of all the threats of a lockout.

I'm not even sure about this DeMaurice Smith guy. Is he trying to make a name for himself right out of the gate? Good grief!
 
There is going to be a lockout I knew it was coming and the players will cave first. The Owners are sitting pretty

It will get ugly and finally the lower tier non superstars who do not have 9.5 million bonuses will crack and break first.
 
I'm an optimist I think the 2 sided will get something done before the 2011 season to avoid a lockout.
 
I've always thought this was coming. The owners aren't going to continue to give 60% of their revenue to the players, and the players make enough money now to live with a lockout... At least for a while.

The *only* good thing I've heard on this was Darren Revell, the CNBC business guy, saying he didn't think one would happen because all sides will lose too much money. He said the NBA is in much greater danger of a work stoppage, in his opinion.

Maybe we can have strippers as replacement cheerleaders! :D
 
Posturing on both sides since they have a year to get it done. Nothing serious yet.

I agree. But I wonder how many of these guys are saving some bucks now putting it off to the side just in case?
 
I'm so tired of NFLPA, everytime i turn around, they are running around saying the owners are asking for too much. There not being fair to the players, etc etc, theres gonna be a lockout, etc...

the NFLPA is fishing for attention to try and force the owners hands. The owners have the upper hand, and the NFLPA needs to sit down stop being idiots and try and be fair to both the players and the owners. Because the majority of the NFL players are not gonna like making thousdands to millions of dollars a year to nothing. It's not gonna be pretty for the NFLPA, and at the end of the day if there is a lockout the NFLPA will cave in first and end up looking like the idiots they are.
 
would be serious mistake by both sides. Baseball took years to recover from their lock-out. Players percentage of revenue is too high on any business scale. Lets hope both sides act reasonable.

I don't think over-the-top comments like this are helpful with negotiations about to heat up.
 
what the players should be mad at is the rookie contracts.

get the rookie cap fixed and snyder capped. the nfl will be fine.

It puts pressure on the NFL by making the league look like the bad guy. If there's a stoppage, the union can simply blame the league.
