In the NFC East alone, Clinton Portis (shoulder) and Brian Westbrook (foot) are probably done for the preseason.

Chad Greenway, the linebacker Dallas probably would have taken had Carpenter been scooped up, blew his knee out Monday night.

The Giants defense has some issues with injuries to.

Henry rushed back too soon

According to Henry, it seemed like it was more of a misdiagnosis than anything. They thought he just had a groin pull and couldn't understand why he couldn't come back. Then they later found out that he had an abdominal tear (very painful injury). Perhaps he came back too soon and that caused an abdominal tear, or maybe they just never diagnosed the abdominal tear to begin with.

This is just another reason to hold our cards tightly to our chests.

If you start trading off depth this soon, you not only put yourself in a bind if you aren't covered, but you can also get more from potential trade partners.

Before last night, I doubt Minnesota would be interested in a linebacker like Al Singleton. Now, they probably are.

What will the Portis injury set him back... In time off?

definatly all the preseason, and they are "cautiously optimistic" that he will be back for the opener. But, there is a pretty decent possibility that he might miss the opener. It all depends on how his rehab will go.

I'm guessing this is supposed to be funny?

Update on Springs, for those waiting with baited breath. This just received from the Commanders:

WASHINGTON Commanders DB SHAWN SPRINGS HAS MEDICAL PROCEDURE TO REPAIR MINOR ABDOMINAL MUSCLE TEAR

Ashburn, VA - Washington Commanders DB Shawn Springs underwent a medical procedure today to repair a minor tear in an abdominal muscle that attaches to the pubic bone.

The procedure was performed by Dr. William Meyers at the Durham Regional Hospital.

You know what they say about karma.

The Commanders got off very lucky last year. Now it appears they could come into week two without Portis or Springs.

What a shame.
