Could be.

Figure by then that TO will have decided he's well enought to hobble out there as well? Hate to think we won't get you guys at YOUR best too.

Not that it would affect our blowout victory either way....

Haven't you heard? Consensus seems to be that TO is faking it.:

I don't think he's faking at all.

I think that's the way he really is. :)

You missed it.

He's 33 years old and his career is over. Anything we get from him is just "gravy".

That's some 'spensive gravy.

Anyone know how much of the preseason he missed last year (and yes, it was his second year in the offense, blah, blah, blah....)? Because I know he missed alot, for non-injury related reasons. He came out and was on pace to shatter his best season marks for the year.

It doesn't matter. That can be spun into the idea that our playbook is so complex, so daunting and so challenging that unless he gets out there, RIGHT NOW!!!, he will be completely worthless to us this season. We might as well start Sam Hurd if this goes on much longer.

That's really what we can't get, isn't it?

We know TO is annoying. He's annoying me, and everyone else with his stupid antics and everything - but unless you've been living in a cave for the past three years, you had to know that was coming. So we're annoyed with him, but hey, that's part of the deal.

I just think everyone is dying to identify that singular moment when TO ruined his career here, when he ruined our team, and so anytime something isn't going just rosy and perfect, the sky must fall, we must feel angst, we must call for him to not receive special treatment, we must lose our minds.

I;m much more concerned about my hernia than I am about TO practicing or not. He'll be ready when he's ready - no amount of angst and wringing hands is going to change it.

And if not, life goes on. Coach Parcells will still have to coach this team. These players will still have to play on Sundays. I said it before and I will say it again until it sinks in to the hysterics, the coaches care about what they have right now. The players on the field have their own issues to watch out for and don't have time for wondering if he is "faking" it or not.

The ones concerned about this to the degree that you see here are confined to cyberspace.

And you are correct. Some are just DYING to find that moment, because they can then shout from the rooftops that they were right.

Looks like the Skins injuries are the chronic type that probably won't heal fully till after the season. Springs could well be below 90% for the whole year on this one. One of the places the Skins can't afford to get anyone hurt.

TO is being TO. Hes making the story about him in the easiest way he knows how. But Bill is still supreme in Cowboys Camp, except with Galloway.

You know what they say about karma.

The Commanders got off very lucky last year. Now it appears they could come into week two without Portis or Springs.

Quiet you.

The Cowboys were pretty lucky with injuries last year too. We had a below average amount imo, and the only major season ending one was Flo.

are you kidding me? Lost two of our starting LBs for the season? Then their backups got injured? Our starting CB was hurt for gaems and then was nearly crap the rest of the year. Our starting RB went down - again. Maybe we didn't have as many as some teams, but we had a real good amount.

If you consider that lucky, then you must really have a rosey outlook.

We lost our LT which basically reduced our pass protection to nothing with an immobile QB behind it.

We lost our starting cornerback in Henry, our starting tailback in Jones and a valuable pair of situational players in Patrick Crayton and Jay Ratliff. Not even mentioning the state of turmoil Cundiff's injury did as well.

I would hate to see what you consider "unlucky". We didn't lose the high profile players, but we had more than our fair share.

That being said, it's no real excuse as we should have prepared better with depth. I think it is fairly clear this year we learned that valuable lesson.

Every team is going get hit with injuries, and normally quite a few. Maybe my memory is poor, but it seemed to me that we escaped a whole lot of serious season ending injuries to major pieces.

Henry was limited in the 2nd half, but still played and played relatively well. And we had A. Glenn to sub in.

Bledsoe never missed a snap, nor did Keyshawn or Glenn.

JuJo missed a few games, but MB3 filled in more than admirably.

Flo is the only major injury I can remember that probably cost us games, since we didn't have a capable backup.

Was Dat last year also? That was serious as well.

Dat, Singleton,(there's half our LB corp, which was pretty thin to start with) Crayton - Rivera's back was hampered all year.

When you add it up, it's a pretty nice chunk of valuable starters missing large chunks of games.

Eh, maybe it was.

My memory works a lot better for season enders, and most of those were just injuries that hampered players all year (which can be worse, I'll admit), maybe that's why it just didn't seem that bad.

Well, that and the fact that Bledsoe played every down gives me some rosey glasses.

Surely you don't think either one will miss THAT little engagement, do you? :)

Portis should probably make week 2. Springs may be hard pressed to make week 2. People think abdominal tears are not all that major, but they are an excruciating injury. Put it this way, it wouldn't surprise me if Springs was completely black and blue from around his waist/lower abdominal area.

Personally, I want my opposing teams perfectly healthy. That way I don't have to hear excuses as to why Dallas beats them (if they beat them). I'm a little sick and tired of the Eagles getting off on that excuse last year when Dallas destroyed them in week 5 and the only starters they were playing w/o was Todd Pinkston and Jerome McDougal.

And Petitti played hurt the second half with an ankle sprain, IIRC.

According to Henry, it seemed like it was more of a misdiagnosis than anything. They thought he just had a groin pull and couldn't understand why he couldn't come back. Then they later found out that he had an abdominal tear (very painful injury). Perhaps he came back too soon and that caused an abdominal tear, or maybe they just never diagnosed the abdominal tear to begin with.

Rich........

Springs has the same injury. He just received surgery for an abdominal tear...
