love these old videos, it would be so cool if the NFL would load up every game ever played by season, by team along with all the pre & post game shows, etc so you could relive any season

Been wishing for that for years.

What a BRUTAL memory. We had gone 4-0 in preseason, Jimmy was gonna "turn the thing around" First round quarterback, one of the great backs of all time, in New Orleans where they were horrible -- always -- and we got smoked. I'm not even going to look it up and say I think it was 38-0. I remember going to a sports bar in Orlando called Sneakers, where I sat, everything about that game. It's so weird how that game has stuck with me--

But the payoff was awesome!

Just as excited today as I was back on that day about my Cowboys. 1989 was a rough year but a lifetime of wonderful memories would soon follow. I lived the old CBS game intros from that era also. Of course my all time favorite announcer Verne Lundquist always made the day that much better win or lose. Thanks for posting that video.

The Cowboys went 3-1 during the preseason in 89 losing to Denver in OT and yes that intro brings back a brutal memory. Watched that game at a sports bar never expecting a 28-0 blowout. I'm sure the Cowboys promising preseason had a lot of fans expectations higher than they should have been. That opening day game and that season made a lot of people question if Jimmy and Jerry knew what they were doing.

Neat little video might bring back memories for some. I was few months old during this game anyone remember watching it?

I was very excited to be able to see that game because I didn't expect it to come on. Once it got underway it was one of the worst games Dallas ever played. Awful just awful

I remember it quite well. All season Madden would keep saying that Aikman would one day be a great one. That game sure didn't seem like it.

OMG, I was so hungover during this game. Dallas got absolutely killed and I was nauseated through the whole thing. It was like the first time I had ever drank and I was just shot.

Dallas had gone undefeated in Jimmy Johnson's first pre season and I had a crazy idea that they were going to be good.

So my thoughts that alcohol was good and the Cowboys were good came crashing down around me for those long 3 hours.

Thanks for bringing up the memories though. o_O (not really)

I was excited about the game till I saw the talent (or lack of) on the field. I remember asking "Why'd they draft this Johnston guy #48, he's really, really slow...." LOL Glad I was wrong about Moose.

I remember it well, we got killed by an atrocious Saints team. But like I've done since the late 60's, I sat and watched every play every game.

Kind of cool reading the comments because it's funny how things have changed. That was kind of the beginning of being able to go to sports bars and watch the games. It was such a revelation to be able to watch your team every week. I think the last time I waited for a highlight and score was the Herschel Walker overtime TD run in New England (maybe 87, 88?).

I know bars are still crowded but back then, EVERYBODY went if you wanted to see your team play. You got to know fans of other teams, it was a really great atmosphere and bonding experience. For Cowboy fans, there was no place better in the 90's because nobody could say a thing. I miss those days because that's when I enjoyed talking football with other people, especially Cowboy fans.

Nowadays, I hardly ever talk football with people and if I see a Cowboy fan, I'll just nod or say hi - because I already know what's coming.

That Walker overtime TD is one of my favorite Cowboy memories. Had to listen on fuzzy car radio and ran screaming through the yard when they won. They had to convert a fourth and long on the drive that tied it in regulation if I recall.
