NFL physicians cancel all physicals

Yup, this could be the straw that halts the draft, the season - for awhile, who the hell knows. But this makes everything moving forward that much more difficult.

This will affect free agency signing indefinitely. Hope Jerry will pay for private physicals for whoever he wants.

we don’t need to lose a DT because the Eagirls pay for a physical first

It's folly to think there will be minicamps or trading camps this spring.

I can see NFL training to resume in November, scrimmages but no exhibition games, first game in early Dec. and playing into February ( if the CBA allows it.)

I don’t see this as that big a deal. I have no idea why you guys are worried about physicals.

The epidemic may delay thre season, but it won’t be because free agents can get a physical.
  1. The Cowboys can hire their own physician, in whatever city the player is in, and have them do the physical.
  2. Unless the player is stuck in some podunk town and not near a big city there will be plenty of highly qualified orthopedist, and internists who will be more than willing to do the tests, Brady had his in NYC. He didn’t have to go to Tampa and it wasn’t with the Buc’s team doctor.
  3. The Cowboys have never, ever, shown themselves to be cheap when it comes to player services, medical care or frankly, anything else. The costs for one of these physicals is insignificant to an NFL team

Buckle down and strapped down your saddles Cowboys fans!!!

The Eagles now have the best DT combo in the league (Cox & Hargrave), but yea we can’t afford to lose a player over this.
I remember when they had the best team in the league in the dream team days. How did that work out? This game is played on the field not on paper.

It did say the NFL gave permission for teams to use independent doctors. Maybe Jerry will pay for the independent physicals to get any free agents we want while everybody else is waiting.

I'm pretty sure every NFL team can afford to pay for independent physicals.

Thats for sure a big issue.
At this point I wont be surprised if part of the season is delayed or canceled tbh.
Imagine if the season is canceled, players don’t play and don’t get paid when they just signed the cba. Coulda held out for an entire year and gotten whatever they wanted. Just makes you think if the owners pulled a fast one on them.

Sooooo the NFL physicians must be more important than independent doctors? Just put free agency and the season on hold.

And take away our livelihoods? We’ve already had so much taken. Football offseason is all we got that’s close to being normal.

An awkward dynamic is unfolding between the NFL and the media outlet the NFL owns and operates.

On Monday night, NFL.com posted an item based on a tweet from Ian Rapoport of NFL Media regarding a memo from the head of the NFL Physicians Society that seems to suggest a blanket cancellation of all physicals for players. The presence of the letters N, F, and L created a stronger impression that, indeed, the plug was being pulled on physicals.

It wasn’t.

Other teams are using other physicians as a few guys just signed.

Wonder what we will do

Not much happening in FA anyway right now. So is it that big of a deal. If possible FA's don't or can't get a physical in the area they are currently in. They can alway still agree to terms, pending a physical. Isn't that the way it usually is works anyway?
