I think by May and definitely by August/September you can start figuring out places that teams in all sports could play in front of empty arenas because testing is getting better each week especially among private labs. Look at the NBA. It seems every team was able to test its players within a week and that’s when not many were available.

I think teams like the Giants/Jets might have to relocate ala the Saints for the year because it’s hard to see when NYC would be deemed safe for anything including even practicing. It’s just not safe to leave the house up there.

In most locations by summer I’d think they could have business as normal except for large gatherings.

The key is if they can find a proven treatment which every lab in the world is trying to figure out. Someone’s going to hit on it given enough time.

Yeah, if they have a 15 minute test like they say, they could test every player and staff the day of the game! But that said, if you had a positive, under the current situation, how many have they infected without it showing on a test.

It's gonna be a mess!

A lot of sporting events are being canceled or postponed. The summer Olympics have been postponed until next summer. Wimbledon has been canceled. The NFL may be proceeding as if this will be a normal season with fans in attendance but that remains to be seen.

The NFL season is also a further two months down the road. Sooner rather than later, people will be willing to live with the risk of being sick in order to have a sense of normalcy again.

Things are likely to get worse before they get better. That’s the trend we’re seeing. The positive cases are growing by the day. Considering the casualty rate I don’t think many people will be willing to live with the risk. Those who are willing won’t be allowed by all the restrictions to have a sense of normalcy until this situation is contained. It’s Impossible to have any kind of normalcy with all the closures and restrictions. If this situation begins to subside and we let our guard down too much it could spike again.

Let’s assume by June the situation dramatically improves to where life returns to near normal and the NFL season starts on schedule. If the positive tests start to rise again or one player in the league tests positive, the season will be over. The fall could bring on a second wave of this even if we appear to have it under control. Until we gain control of this and come up with a vaccine this could be a problem next year.

I honestly don’t see things returning to normal for a good while. We’re dealing with something our generation has never experienced before. They just announced schools in the LA area will be closed for the rest of the year. This is a very serious situation we’re dealing with and every precaution is going to be taken until we gain control of it. We can’t afford to relax until we know how to treat it better and have a vaccine.

Until we have a vaccine we may not see any sports. The British Open golf tournament which was scheduled for July has just been canceled. Unfortunately all the arrows are pointing to not having an NFL season this year. The only way we can prevent the spread of this virus is by staying away from people. You can’t put fans in stadiums or teams together or can’t travel from city to city in airplanes with a deadly virus that continues to spread. You’re starting to hear those in the media who cover the NFL saying if there is an NFL season this year or assuming there’s an NFL season.

No one was talking like that a month ago. By the end of May or June we’re probably going to know if there’s going to be an NFL season. The absolute best we can hope for is a postponement but If there’s no vaccine in the coming months and the only way to prevent the spread of this virus is by social distancing and staying home there won’t be an NFL season. We’re seeing extreme measures to try and prevent the spread of this virus. The world we live in has become very different.

Hydroxychloroquine is showing promise according to my guy at the pharmacy. He told me that, like theraflu, if you get the virus it can keep it from getting too bad. Of course it's a small sample now but lets try to be hopefull so that our world can start to get back to normal. In the meantime, we will have the draft to look forward too.
