The majority of NFL players believe commissioner Roger Goodell is doing an above-average job leading the league, according to a poll conducted by Sports Illustrated.
Sixty-six percent of the 296 players surveyed gave Goodell grades of either 'A' or 'B.' Only three percent of the players gave Goodell an 'F.'
Players aged 21 through 24 were particularly positive, with 72 percent giving Goodell an A or a B.
Since becoming NFL commissioner in 2006, Goodell has made perhaps his most visible imprint by implementing a personal conduct policy to bring wayward players in line, on and off the field.
The survey was conducted before the start of the 2009 season. Here are the complete results:
A 20%
B 46%
C 26%
D 5%
F 3%
