#1 Lamar Jackson
#2 Joe Bo=urrow (+2)
#3 Mahomes
#4 Josh Allan (-2)
#5 CJ Stroud
#6 Jayden Daniels (+2)
#7 Dak Prescott (-1)
#8 Geno Smith (-1)
#9 Mayfield (+1)
#10 Purdy (-1)

Rank 7 - Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys · Year 9
2024 stats: 5 games | 65.4 pct | 1,424 pass yds | 7.5 ypa | 8 pass TD | 4 INT | 24 rush yds | 1 rush TD | 4 fumbles

The win over the Steelers had everything you've come to expect from Prescott: great throws, play extension, key completions in huge spots and brutal interceptions. Prescott's first pick seemed to result from some sort of miscommunication with CeeDee Lamb. The second was on a totally unnecessary shot taken in the fourth quarter of a game the Cowboys had a chance to put away with a methodical scoring drive. But Prescott came through in the clutch, leading a 15-play, 70-yard possession that expertly drained the remaining clock and ended with a courageous touchdown pass to Jalen Tolbert with the game on the line. You'll take the bad with the good, I guess. It's certainly better than some of the performances lesser quarterbacks produce on a weekly basis.

Has Jayden surpassed Dak, in your opinion?

It's moronic to say Jayden Daniels is a better qb at this point.

His potential and rookie contract are off the chain though, and that makes him more desirable right now. Anyone would rather have Jayden, but it doesn't mean he's better. He'll have to get established before he can lay claim to being better.

Burrow isnt better than Rogers right now...he is just younger.

Rogers isnt perfect...but he throws a great ball, has zip and can read a defense and make up his mind faster than I think any QB in the league can. He is older, probably stuck in his ways on some things...but he still has it.

My main point is...I think Rogers and Mahomes are the two standouts in todays NFL QB. Borrow, Daniel, Stroud all might end up being better...but none of them can do it like Rogers or Mahomes.

Im a big Rogers fan...and not to elongate this convo in pro-Rogers form....but if you are into football, listening to scouts and what they say is important in todays NFL and not just going by potential or win-loss......my opinion is that Rogers is still up there with the best. Not #10 or #5....but top 3 for sure. And thats based on ability to read and process the game while having a strong arm and being able to throw a good ball.

Watch Rogers in week 3 and tell me thats not exactly how every Owner, GM, Coach would like his QB to play. It was clean because of his mental ability to process whats going on along with his athletic ability(arm).

He aint perfect and can look old. But if given enough time to execute(Im aware Football is unpredictable and no QB is guaranteed time to throw)...I think Rogers is unmatched mentally. He makes the game look so slowed down to him. He only looks old when he has to take sacks because he cant scramble as well anymore.

Anyway...show me lists that make sense. Rogers has to be up there based on his processing alone. Sure...having mentals and young legs helps...but that mental advantage Rogers brings to the passing game is highly valuable and underestimated.

I dont fall for age or arm or win/loss excuses...Rogers mental game at QB is very underrated, even by this board. Give this guy a legit line and half way serviceable WR...and its a no brainer.
You can’t be too big of a Rodgers fan, cuz you spelled his name wrong throughout your post.

Goff put up virtually a perfect game in his last outing and he's not listed but Geno is?

I have no idea how he spells his name.

I dont follow him on social media or buy NFL League Pass to watch all his games or anything...Im just a fan of his skill set and think people underestimate how good he is at important QB skills...namely reading defenses, arm strength, ability to throw a good ball, footwork mechanics and decision making.

He's got it all. At one time he even had legs.

He might be a crappy teammate or an a-hole...but skill wise he is the perfect pocket passer. He makes the position look way easier than it really is.

Darnold is playing better football than everyone in that top 4….Burrows stats are surreal but he’s not producing the wins but even then top 4 that’s fair. Darnold, Purdy and Lamar and probably Burrow.
Yes, but Mahomes is established enough to where he's unmoveable at this point.

No way Purdy is in the Top 4. He's 3-3 and he's a big reason they lost to the Cardinals and Vikings. See that last INT vs Cardinals.... he was hit but he still put it up for grabs.... seemed like a rookie mistake. And he didn't do anything against the Vikings until a late flurry that was never gonna result in a comeback. Don't think any of Burrow's losses are on him besides the Patriots.

Stroud's 4-1 record should put him in the Top 4. Allen shouldn't even be above Cousins imo.

That’s why I asked is this about how guys are playing now or how good guys are? Then it doesn’t explain how a rookie could be top 5….

You say Purdy is top 4 but it’s been 3 seasons is he not unmovable? Same for Josh?

It’s not that Burrow is losing games…it’s that he’s not winning them. While their defense gave up 30 plus points did Burrow not have a chance to win that Ravens game at the end?

Its:

1) Mahomes
2) Rodgers(spelling?)

3/4/5) Burrow, Stroud, Daniels

6/7/8/9) Dak, Cousins, Darnald, Goff

Lamar, Murray, Purdy, Lawrence, Tua, Herbert and anyone else I missed just seem to be inconsistent. Lamar and Purdy are good...but the above is my tier list based on talent right now. I am giving Stroud and Daniels the benefit of the doubt and assuming they continue to ball out.

Yeah, Im a Rodgers Homer. You can tell me all day long about how he sucks and all that, but how come when he is given time to throw he looks better than every other QB? Because he is good, thats why. Smart, quick to make up his mind, quick release, strong arm, good ball placement. Most of these guys still look like a horse on roller skates out there compared to Rodgers. His game is just super polished.

I think thats my 'off the dome' QB tier list. No doubt some young guys like Purdy or Lawrence or Herbert can end up being better than Goff or Cousins....but right now Goff and Cousins are playing really good and look more mature.
