NFL Radio - Dallas is 3rd most dysfunctional team in NFL

Why cherry pick? Yes, we are .500 in the last 20 years going back to 1994. But if you go back to 1991 we are .532. If you go back to the beginning we are .571. If you go back to the Jerry era we are .531. Go and look at the rest of the division. It is true we are in third place for that time period but we aren't that different and we certainly beat the socks off of them overall. Philly is 36 games under .500 overall.

I don't dispute we are mediocre right now and have been for the last two decades. That's a long dry spell for us. Longer than anything I ever would have imagined happening. So you and others aren't the only people disappointed which is a huge understatement for me. If it would help I'd get out and push.

I agree with every word you said. Don't see what the issue is.

I don't see it as an issue. I just don't think it's fair to look at one aspect of Jerry's reign when doing an overall grade. BTW, we are in third place since his reign stated re total games won. We are tied with the Giants with 3 SB wins in that time frame and one behind in appearances. Don't have to go over the Eagles I guess.

So there is no ringing endorsement from me as of late but 3 SBs in 20 years ain't bad. It just isn't up to Cowboys' standards. Nor mine. I have begun to worry just a tad I won't see another Cowboys' SB.

The Texans lost 14 games in a row. That is dysfunctional.

The Jaguars have trouble selling out home games. That is dysfunctional.

The Bills have had to play games in Toronto to get interest in the franchise. That is dysfunctional.

Or Dallas and how many coordinators they have year after year. Sticking with Garrett. Now having all these meaningless people in Calahan and Kiffin. How we draft. Handle the cap. Contracts we hand out.

There is no direction with this team at all.

I dont see how anyone can look at the fact that the Garrettboys have had 3 different playcallers and 3 different defensive coordinators in the past 3 seasons and think "By golly, that team isnt dysfunctional at all . That is a team with a plan"

I'm shocked! :)

Listening to NFL radio this morning, Ross Tucker ranks Dallas #3 behind Miami and Cleveland as most dysfunctional organization in the NFL. Agree or disagree?

It was Ross Tucker! Who's more dysfunctional than him?/

And, end of thread, right there. But I'm guessing...15 pages? Rant Zone?

And the record indicates that only 5 teams have fewer playoff wins over the past decade and a half, which objectively places the Cowboys squarely in the most dysfunctional category.

I believe the writer claimed that it's only Miami and Cleveland that are worse. If I'm counting correctly that's only two and not five. Also, there may be some that had an equal number of playoff wins in the time period you mentioned. During the overall span of time that we've been in the league, we've fared better than many. A lot depends upon whether you're aiming at finding fault or being objective. That's not to say we're we're altogether very functional, however. Jerry and family certainly make that assertion laughable but there are quite a few teams in addition to the Cowboys that have serious elements of disfunction. A considerable number of them have been wanting throughout longer periods of time than we have. Are we disfunctional? Yes but not to the extent that the writer of this article makes it sound, imo.

This is how I rank them over the past decade

1 Cleveland
2 Miami
3 Washington
4 Tampa Bay
5 Oakland
6 Dallas
7 St Louis
8 Buffalo
