Let's see where some of our Cowboys would go.

The bogus NFLN Top 100 got me thinking - how would teams approach building their franchises from scratch. Obviously QBs, Pass Rushers, and LTs would go higher - but some dynamic positions like CB/WR and even TE/ILB would go earlier depending on each team's scheme.

Let's try to reply with the selection and brief justification.

Pick
1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Aaron Rodgers. Duh.
2. Tennessee Titans
3. Jacksonville Jaguars
4. Oakland Raiders
5. Washington Commanders
6. New York Jets
7. Chicago Bears
8. Atlanta Falcons
9. New York Giants
10. St. Louis Rams
11. Minnesota Vikings
12. Cleveland Browns
13. New Orleans Saints
14. Miami Dolphins
15. San Francisco 49ers
16. Houston Texans
17. San Diego Chargers
18. Kansas City Chiefs
19. Cleveland Browns (from Buffalo Bills)
20. Philadelphia Eagles
21. Cincinnati Bengals
22. Pittsburgh Steelers
23. Detroit Lions
24. Arizona Cardinals
25. Carolina Panthers
26. Baltimore Ravens
27. Dallas Cowboys
28. Denver Broncos
29. Indianapolis Colts
30. Green Bay Packers
31. New Orleans Saints (from Seattle Seahawks)
32. New England Patriots

Titans are on the clock.

Since it's a draft in 2015, then I guess the players playing well right now that are older will get pushed down.
Murray, McCoy, Rivers, Romo, Witten, Foster, Peterson, P Manning, Charles, etc....all discounted.

I guess the next pick would be Watt or Luck?

How far back does it go? Is it active players only or can I go back to the 1990 draft.

If it's active players, then Romo would be the 1st Cowboy off the board.

I would say Andrew Luck is number 1 due to being so young

I'm not sure about that. Somebody like Tyron Smith will likely be around for a franchise much longer than Romo.

Romo wouldn't be 1st he's too aged Tyron and Dez would go before him.

I say Jacksonville gets the WR they've needed for years and get Calvin, build around him.

i think the age thing muddies the argument here. otherwise guys like brady and manning wouldn't even get drafted, or at least much lower than they should be. It's an interesting exercise to consider longevity/age, but not a necessary one. Otherwise, we should just start a cowboyszone dynasty league (which I would be all for, btw)

The objective of this is to find the top players in the league. Should be a redraft to win the SB this year. In which case, Aaron Rodgers would certainly go number 1.

Is age being taken into consideration? I figured in this alternate draft universe that ages were reset. If not, then that changes things.

Many of those teams have to get a QB and there are not 32 good QBs available.

The OP was not well defined, but if Aaron Rodgers is #1, then it has to be about winning now, not building a team for the future. Teams have to get a QB to win now.

Rodgers is 31 so the OP has to be talking about winning now.
