The only reason people hate the Patriots is because they win. If people really cared about cheating and competitive balance, then they would show outrage at other things that happened this year such as the Jets illegally tampering with Revis, Vikings illegally heating balls on the sidelines or the Browns illegally texting during games down to the sidelines.
No one cares about cheating when it is anyone else but the Patriots. But when the Patriots get accused of something, people lose their minds. And why is that? Because the Patriots are the best team in football the past 15 years or so. Jealousy breeds contempt. You would think Cowboys fans, of all people, would understand that fact.
lol.
They're going to admit to missing that one to avoid admitting to screwing up the Dez call.
Considering most reporters *are* pieces of excrement, I can't really say I see this as valid criticism.Yup!
Watch how he often looks sideways out of the corners of his eyes while responding to reporters questions.
It's like, "you piece of excrement"

Exactly. People hate successful teams. We all do it. Through the years, people hate Dallas and Pittsburgh and San Francisco and New England. I hate Pittsburgh more than I do any of our own division rivals.
No one hates Jacksonville.
This is true. Doesn't change the fact the Patriots cheated though and deserve scorn. We pity the Jacksonvilles of the world because even with cheating they are pathetic. The Patriots aren't pathetic, so they get hate. Well deserved hate, IMO.
If they won but didn't blatantly cheat to do so, I'd probably still not like them, because as you say, people hate winners when it isn't their own team doing the winning. But I wouldn't despise what they stand for (cheating gets you ahead and all the accolades even though you were cheating. Very bad role models IMO) like I do now.
Well it was a bad day for the haters. Their favorite line about the Patriots never winning a Super Bowl since Spygate is now out the window. What a shame.

It doesn't make a difference. It just further illustrates the incompetence of the referees. This is on them. It is their job to recognize these things and throw a flag.
I agree with this. This should be a super easy call for an official to make. Player X reports in as eligible. If player X catches the football, then the play is legal. If OL other then player X catches it, it's illegal. Honestly, this is unbelievable to me.
I really don't understand how this is an example of cheating....the officials should have either blown the play dead or thrown a flag. All there is to it. Is it also cheating when a LT holds an end before sacking a QB but doesn't get penalized? Nope. The Pats simply took advantage of unprepared/poor officiating. The deflated fotballs thing is one issue(although I'm sick of hearing about already), but anybody who is whining about this is just whining for the sake of whining. Find something better to do with your time.
Yes you are. You clearly are getting your games confused and (once again) showing you really have no idea what you are talking about. The Solder touchdown, which is the subject of this thread, came in the AFCCG (Pats-Colts). All your whining about Harbaugh's whining took place the week before (Pats-Ravens).Did you watch that Game? This isn't closely analogous to a LT
Holding an end.
Harbaugh flat out came on the field, yelled at the refs, told them what they were doing, to take a flag and yet the refs did it again anyways regarding this aspect, after giving Harbaugh a penalty. Why isn't this a big deal?
Am I missing something here?
How come the haters only remember that one play, but conveniently forget the 5 yard penalty which should have been a 15 yard penalty and given the Patriots a 1st down? You cite Cris Collinsworth's opinion so you obviously respect what he has to say, therefore it should please you to hear that he felt that the rules state quite clearly that the penalty against the punter should have been 15, not 5.Like I said, either the refs are woefully incompetent or they turn a blind eye to certain plays in games. Like the clear offensive PI on the deep pass Brady threw on the second to last drive I believe in the SB which nobody can tell me the refs just missued it the whole way down and the clear defensive PI on the Seattle WR, when fall down he stuck his arm out and tripped him and even Chris Collinsworth was like what the hell..

Seriously, brah. All this hatred is going to eat you alive. So they employ cheap tactics irrespective than? The refs still missed such an obvious call after this issue was raised by John Harbaugh? Ironic that in the SB the only time the Patriots employed that formation, the refs declared on microphone who was an eligible receiver.
Oh, you mean one of the first drives of the game, which Mike Carey tweeted saying it was the correct call because it wasn't that significant. Even if we were to assume this point, how is that in any way comparable to a crucial drive where Brady is down and has to get a TD? Or when Seattle is on its last drive and needs to score?

Patriots won fair and square. Tip your cap to 'em, get over it, and start thinking about 2015. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on the clock.
