Dallas Cowboys quarterback Brandon Weeden has thrown just two passes more than 15 yards in the air this season. Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones says that must change in the future and that Weeden has the arm to get it done.

You know the front office understands exactly were this team is....When Jerry starts talking (bad things happen)....Jerry is now in constant SELL mode....selling the backups as big time players. While Stephen gets reactionary about supporting the team throwing the ball down field more. I totally expect the front office to be confident in the players. I just thought they did a better PR job last year when they lowered expectations and surprised everyone.

History says when Jerry and Stephen go into sell's mode they got bigger concerns then they are telling us. (the GM's needs to step back, support the coaches and let them figure it out)

Jones comments:

You won't see a more gifted passer then Brandon Weeden
Christine Michael offers a "different dimension. He's a load." Compared C-Mike to Devonta Freeman
Jones says Cowboys have a big receiving threats, beyond Dez

is confident the Cowboys will win games without Romo
Weeden should throw downfield more

Despite how this reads it's a message to the coaching staff. They are in Weedens ear and could have said last week "take s shot down field" and forced the issue, they didn't, that's on them. He b chucking this week whether he wants to or not.

"I think Brandon is going to have to step up and show them that he'll go downfield with it and go to the outside receivers," Jones said

This says it all, even Stephen is stating the obvious!

Stephen must have missed the coaches instructions on the matter..lol!

The coaches probably didn't let him throw down field because they know he can't. Look for the turnovers to start now.

Here comes the picks. Weedens gonna force it now instead of taking what's open and available. I agree we need to stretch the girls but please don't force anything.

This is what I'm worried about, too.

Once again the acorn never falls far from the tree. Please, Joneses... leave the game-planning to the coaches. (You'd think they might have learned this by now.)

Just do it once or twice to keep the defense honest. Doesn't mean you need to chuck it the entire game. We should have taken a couple shots down the field against the Falcons to back them up.

The fact we didn't solidifies how I feel about Weeden and makes me question Linehan.
