yes it does because they have said before that it does matter, and he did not lead with his helmet nor was his target the the helmet of the other player, the only reason their helmets touched was because of collie lowering his and the first hitblindzebra;3675618 said:What part of a player shall not use his helmet unnecessarily don't you get?
All the runner crap does not matter.

of course they said it was correct, when do they ever say it is wrong?hornitosmonster;3675628 said:I know what Cowher said. If you pay attention, Cowher also said he spoke to league officials and they said the call was correct. He disagreed with them...
By the definition of the new rule there should be a fine.
ZeroClub;3675647 said:Regardless as to what the rules say and whether or not the guy is fined, it is tough for me to blame the DB ... The hit happened so quickly after the catch and initial contact. Collie changed the level of his own head by lowering it. Very difficult situation.
I gotta see that.Randy White;3675638 said:bringing this up because I rarely, if ever, blame refs for most anything. However:
anybody watching the Radius/Chefs game ? If you are, check out who's the reffing' crew, then check out what happened after the O-lineman caught that TD, ie: the celebration part of it.
Same crew A hole that reffed the Cowboys/Titans game, almost identical situations, different outcome..
This guy should not be working in the NFL.
why does anybody go high? is it illegal to go high? the intent was a hard hit to dislodge the ball from the receiverblindzebra;3675655 said:Why is Coleman going high?
What Collie did was attempt to get below the hit. By ducking there shouldn't be helmet to helmet.
The intent was a kill shot and not a tackle.
he didnt get leap frogged and he didnt hold up any hand signs so idk what your saying. what i do have a problem with is that his helmet got taken off which should be a penaltyRandy White;3675638 said:bringing this up because I rarely, if ever, blame refs for most anything. However:

now this is a real question im really asking, what is the rule for high low hits? i know that there is wording saying that nobody can go for the legs while engaged high(and vice versa) but i dont know if that is just for blockers engaged and QBs. could coleman have gone for the legs while being hit high?

thats fine to think that but thats not the way the rules are set upblindzebra;3675676 said:Coleman was not targeting his torso he was not attempting to tackle he was looking for a kill shot.
You aim high you deserve the flag, fine and suspension if you hit them in the head.
ZeroClub;3675678 said:IMO, it is wildly speculative to assume that the intent was a "kill shot."
