NFL Sunday Ticket on ESPN+ and Amazon Prime

most likely be more expensive when this begins in 2024

From my understanding Amazon Prime will be the only way to watch Thursday night games and is included with Prime. The Sunday Ticket will be On ESPN+. Haven't seen prices on costs or if you must subscribe annually.

Up until two years ago this was me.. Then I moved to Fort Worth and not only did my mortgage go down a grand a month but I stopped having to pay for The Ticket. The worst thing about the Ticket was that when the Cowboys were good they would have like 10 or 11 national games so I was really paying the extra $300 for 5 or 6 games. I felt like a rube but I didn't want to miss games .. so I paid the freight. I don't know how the streaming stuff is going to work but unless I'm traveling for business I won't have to care.. I love livin in Texas!!! But I will miss the ability to scout all the other teams when the Cowboys aren't on.
 
by the way.... dont think for a second that the cost to have ESPN+ didnt just increase somehow. They will either have the NFL package as separate charge in addition to the espn+ fee, or the cost to have espn+ just dramatically increased for all of their users. As an 18 year or so user of direct TV that cancelled Direct tv 2 summers ago, this will also mean the end is near for directv. I knew that would happen once at&t bought them, but losing the Sunday ticket will be the final nail in the coffin for Directtv.

I'm interested to see if Amazon Prime has a separate charge for the NFL Sunday Ticket Package. They don't currently have an extra charge for the Thursday Night Games. I don't need the package to watch Cowboys' games since I live in the San Antonio area. However, it would be nice to have an option to watching some of the other games broadcast. Example: Dallas plays at 3:00. If Houston and New Orleans have a 12:00 game then my options may be Houston on one channel and New Orleans on the other. Could care less about watching either team unless it is a good matchup. This would give me an option at 12:00 to maybe watch an NFC East rival. Don't tell Amazon but I would even pay a little extra for this option.

LOL, might be cheaper to just move to Texas. Depending on where you are coming from, maybe lower cost of living as well.

lol.... there is NO DOUBT there will be an additional charge for the games. Amazon didnt pay 1 billion dollar just to give prime members an extra perk.

I was talking to a Direc TV rep the other day and I asked them how is it that Paramount and Discovery can just stream their new episodes of various shows on their own streaming network and leave Direc TV in dark. Seems like breach of contract, but I told him I felt the end was near for Direc tv and he agreed. With them losing the Sunday Ticket I have no need for their service. My daughters ages 5, 8, and 13 don't even like to watch TV, the only one in our house hold who watches TV is my wife.
 
Is this the collapse of the nfl I’ve been predicting for 5 years?!
 
Just as long as direct TV is gone I dont care.

Can't get worse than them and I had no choice but to put up with it.

I'm in California brother. My tailgating group has several hundred members out of Texas and they all say it would be better to move out there. I just can't do it, I make $150k a year working in the oil and gas industry out here, I have it good. Plus, the $300 I spend on the Sunday ticket is worth it if I get to live 3.6 miles from the pacific ocean and have a year round 65 degree average. Those electric bills and energy bills in Texas aren't cheap.
 
There are currently conflicting reports out there. I just read one stating that DirecTV is keeping it.

While I neither know nor care what streaming platform Sunday Ticket is on, I do not believe for a second it will be exclusively streaming.

I have a friend that moved from Ca to Texas about 9 months ago. There is no state income tax, but his property taxes are more in Texas than Ca. and I agree.... yeah, I may pay more for some things, but I am 10 minutes from a lake for my jet skis, 1hr away from a ski resort, and 2 hours away from the pacific ocean. Ill stay where Im at.
