NFL to actually DROP the price of Sunday Ticket

I have been a loyal subscriber of NFL Sunday Ticket since before my Directv days when I owned a big C-Band dish system. The price of the programming has not really bothered me because it has delivered me what it promises: unfettered access to televised Dallas Cowboys football. And that's a blessing when you live in 'conquered' New Orleans Saints territory. :)

Nope. My main issue with Directv was about their inability for providing local network affiliates AND preventing me from subscribing to distant network affiliates. They FINALLY corrected that injustice last year. So now, I'm a happy camper for sure. :p:

Wait. You can now get the networks from other markets?

Nope. Directv launched a satellite in early 2010. My DMA (El Dorado AR/Monroe LA) began receiving local network affiliate feeds through the satellite in August 2010.

We initially were getting Northeast Louisiana/Southeast Arkansas NBC and FOX affiliate feeds. The local ABC and CBS affiliates screwed Directv customers here until last December. They held out until they got a more friendly re-broadcast signal deal worked out with Directv (the greedy ******** )

Oh. Crap. I was getting excited there for a moment.

Sorry about not being more clear earlier.: I know exactly how you feel. I do not know how many distant network programming waivers I sent in before getting local affiliates which got denied. It was really frustrating.

I get the feeling that current subscribers will be automatically renewed for the higher priced package that includes everything unless we ask for the $199 package.

Quit watching the news and get over to the La Tech Football games. That's a good product we got there! I'll even throw in some free tailgating food if you want.

Just call & upgrade your service in July or August & they'll probably give Sunday Ticket Max for free for the first 3 Months & you'll have to pay for December. I did that last year & had the IPhone App so I could watch games while I worked & it was pretty awesome.

I just wish they gave you the flexibility that MLB does with their MLB.tv stuff. You can watch it on tons of different devices and don't have to purchase a package with a cable/satellite company.

Yep....did that as well.....but I never had to pay anything for the ticket....got it for free for the entire time.

Who says I haven't been over to Ruston to watch the Bulldogs? :p: Shoot. ULM needs more attendance help than Tech does. :)

From the Gamepass website:

NFL Game Pass is not available in the United States and Mexico

The best you can do is NFL Game Rewind which isn't live and can't be watched when a primetime game is going on.

MLB.tv is also incredibly cheap, isn't it?

If you only want to watch on your computer, it's $110 a year or $20 a month.

If you want to watch on your PS3, Xbox, Roku, etc, it's $125 a year or $25 a month.

That gives you access to all the games live or you can watch them later. It's very very nice.

a baseball package shouldn't even e compared to the Sunday Ticket anyway

Why? They're similar packages, but one actually gives you some flexibility for less money.

Who the hell is watching a baseball package every single time a team plays?

Because the Sunday Ticket is ONCE a week and more exciting. Baseball is as exciting as my left toenail and it has more games which is every night of the week. That's the difference

That's so cool. I really hope the NFL rolls something like that our before this new season starts. As a matter of fact, I'm literally prayin they do since I won get the last 3 games of the season.
