NFL Total QBR - 2025 Season Leaders

Only the most hard headed fans believe Dak is the problem this year. I’m glad he’s having a good season but it’s a team game and this team is bad.

Sorry, Dak. Too bad Jerry and the front office screwed the offense with boneheaded defensive roster decisions and a bad decision on DC.
All true Good Post, the head coach should have had the opportunity to hire his own preferred defensive coordinator. Jerry made a comfort hire with Eberflus and forced him on his head coach, and some of the defensive players do not fit the scheme and just aren't very good. Murray and Elam have not been good, and Donovan Wilson is not a deep cover safety, but Eberflus can't seem to see it. Offensive tackle play has been suspect as well though and was terrible against Arizona, resulting in 17 points scored. Dallas should play Donovan Wilson as a box safety this is where he plays the best, and he is a good tackler.

Dak is playing at top 3, top 5 at his position, so he's doing his job.

Just imagine if just five of our defensive players would have been playing at a top 5 level of THEIR positions this year.

What do you think our record would currently be? Dak is just one player. Imagine if half the team were ranked in their positions where Dak is currently ranked at his position....

Whole different outlook, isn't it....
The offense is aways ahead of the defense when it comes to Dallas. The FO builds it as such.

I do think an above average defense would do wonders for their overall record.

I don't see how people can overlook a 30th ranked defense. Its mind boggling.

There isn't an offense in history that could overcome a historically bad defense.
No one should overlook how bad the defense had been. Give us Denver's defense and this team is among the NFC contenders. However, we also shouldn't overlook the offensive letdowns we've had. That's not saying Dak is the reason for them.

Against Philly, Lamb and Ferguson let us down with big drops.

Against the Bears, I'm not sure what happened because I had to leave before the second half and after seeing the final score, I never went back and watched. I think the Lamb injury took the wind out of our sails and a fumble hurt us.

Against the Broncos and Cardinals, the offensive line struggled and we ran for just 108 yards and 3.5 per carry against Denver. And Dak threw a couple of interceptions. In the Arizona game, we had too many mistakes and failed on some fourth-down conversions, where it would have likely been more prudent to kick a field goal.

Well said!!

One thing about having a good defense, it gives the offense multiple opportunities to get in a rhythm. With that said, the offense isn't excluded from fault this year under any circumstances.

It's not just the D. The offense has struggled in several games as well.

And I agree with you. But with that said, it doesn't matter what your offense is doing when your defense is ranked between last and third worst all season.

There isn't an offense in the league who would be able to carry an historically bad defense.

If Dak is a comparatively great quarterback the Cowboys’ issues must lie elsewhere. Just pointing out the facts.
I don't know that Dak is a "great" quarterback. Great is the most overused adjective in sports. Dak is however very very good. He is more than good enough to get it done with a better team around him. Unfortunately for him and us fans, back when the team around him was really good he himself was just a kid and not good enough to take them to the promised land. It is what it is.. I will say this.. The Cowboys have never had a Super Bowl caliber defense since Dak Prescott arrived. They have not had such a defense really since 2007. And we all know what they did with that opportunity. Since then the defense has always been either historically bad or horribly flawed especially against the run. Any team that could play a little defense and slow the Cowboys offense down and allow itself to play ground and pound on offense has always been able to dismantle our defense. That may change when Williams, Wilson and Clark all mesh together.. but it's probably way too late for it to make mush difference this year.

For the exercise, what would you qualify as historically bad? What specific stats are they worse than other teams in NFL history at?

For the question, 2022 is a good year to link back to. Currently Dallas is 29th in yards allowed. In 2022, Detroit was 32nd and went 9-8; Minnesota was 31st and went 13-3

..If OL rights the ship. Dak will be top category, long as he's healthy.

Caleb Williams put up personal career stats against us and Russell Wilson had his best game against us. Those are just two small examples.

If you didn't watch the games then you wouldn't understand what im talking about. If you did watch the game then you already know what im talking about.

Then you said Minnesota had a 31st ranked defense and went 13-3? So their defense was ranked 31st all year and they went 13-3? Nahh... im not buying that. Please provide a link or which season, etc.

Nobody with a 31st ranked defense is going 13-3 in the NFL. I'll definitely stand to be corrected if im wrong.

ESPN-only QBR stat....cool
